It has now been two days since my M6SL's run in with the washing machine.
It works almost exactly like new, except for one thing. Sometimes, the touchpad stops responding to anything. the buttons still work, but aside from that, it's inactive. it either fixes itself randomly or fixes itself on restart.
has anyone come accross this problem before? it might have to do with water damage.

I don't know much, but maybe your touchpad is still wet, or corroded.
Good luck.

I know there is a re-calibration function with the TP and SP models by holding down the return button for about 5 seconds to fix the touhpad, but since the SL has a play/pause/on button in the enter button's place, I do not know how to get it into the calibration menu. How do you soft reset a SL? Try holding down the button hat soft resets the player for around 5 seconds. That should bring it into the calibration menu.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 Poststhere's no calibration menu in the SL since the touchpad controller chip is different from the SP's and TP's. it calibrates itself automatically but i don't know how it works exactly (how often it calibrates itself or things like that...).
maybe you should return your player if possible!

Well, it's a user error so the warranty doesn't cover it.
It's only been 2 days, it might still be damp inside the player. Wait a few more days, it could perhaps fix itself. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!
