They're often just clipped together. Use a jewellers screwdriver to VERY CAREFULLY prise a gap between the top and bottom pieces.

Depending on which way it was assembled either the top or the bottom will have to be prised outwards or inwards to dis engage the clips.

Regarding scratches... no hope! The plastic construction of most electronics will be nicked where you insert the screwdriver, though this can be pushed back and carefully polished again to reduce the appearance (though you will have unpainted areas.

I have opened mine no problem just like audiofish said, start at the end where the usb plate is ,and use you finger nail to gradually slide around the gap you make, eventually it will pop open.

You cannot take apart or disassemble the Brewd6! Sorry, I just had to say that. Reference to a funny tv show.

If you use a micro-screwdriver, and a small folded piece of paper between the screwdriver and the surface you are prying on, using as a leverage point, it will keep it from scratching the outside. If you fold the paper a few times, making it thick enough, it spreads the prying weight over a large area, and will keep it from denting, too. Don't pry too hard, or you will bend it out of shape, or break it.

be careful of the clips on the metal back casing...
they will break off easily and u will not be able to put the casing back on properly again...

    Do what I did...

Fall off a bike onto your Meizu so there's a dent in the back case, then it opens presto change-o
    I'm out

Who cares when warranty can be only applied in china and shipping will cost same price as new player.

It can be opened with fingernails... :D But the backplate is so fragile, that the clips that hold it in place WILL break. Then you have to use clue etc. to hold your player together!

    hello firepower,

i saw the fotos of the opened m6 and i think one day i have to open it myself (when the battery died).
This does not seem to be a problem, but i`d like to know where i could get a
    suitable replacement.
    Maybe someone has an idea...
