What I like?
+ great looking
+ very customizable
+ long battery life
+ it's like a tv in your pocket
+ great sound quality (well i do hear the hissing but still better than other players i had)
+ good standard headphones (i got P850)
+ well written manual
+ cool accessories with it
What pisses me off?
- screen very sensitive to scratches
- the back of the player gets dirty really guick (even with the protective film)
- touchpad may be a little too sensitive for new users, it's ok after a while, you gotta get used to it
- i don't like how the touchpad is next to the USB, Headphones and strap because it's hard to operate with the menu and hold it at once because of those plugs
- long startup time (totally a firmware issue! they shouldn't force us to watch MEIZU and MiniPlayer logo on start up - unless there's really something going on "under" those screenshots)
I guess that's it!
I give it:
9/10
Here are some shots of my M6:

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI would have to disagree. My screen has no scratches on it. The back has some scratches, but that's due to the extra film that came with the player (i didnt take it off). touchpad is OK for me, not for some. What pisses me off?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyeah i do have scratches after one day without the film (front of the player). :P however i am getting the crystal case and probably some scratches remover polish thing. i admit it was my fault that screen got messed up a little - those scratches are microscopic.
touchpad is ok but when you get used to it, at the begining it's like "wtf" :Daliens ain't farmers!

Also 9/10 from here.
The touchpad have I also found frustrated in the start, but its now also "OK" for me.
I have noticed the protection film backside of my player is beginning to slip away in the corners, so it is maybe also time for me to get a crystal case.

9/10 for me as well
except i agree with iversonjack, the screen isn't really a problem for me..
maybe because i got the crystal case with it XDDD
could do with some serious firmware modifications
but overall, a good DAP

I would give Meizu and my M6 10/10, I own a number of players, cheaper and much more expensive but the M6 is the best.
Look at this link for the protection kits etc. -

Hm which meizu m6 exactly are you reviewing actually ?
You can't review an Sp and say the Sl is like that also ... vice versa.
They are both slightly different .... :x and whether the pros/cons of one remain the same for both are yet to be seen.
I've seen the Utube review and watched the Meizu M6 Sl load up and it didn't seem that slow to me .... not sure what the fuss is about ( maybe i'm just a patient guy ? )
Anyway the M6 SP/SL weren't made to let you play while your charging on usb .... this is just a trick Meizu fans figured out how to do ourselves.
Let me put it this way, if the DAP if max charged can play the whole day .... can't you just set your dap to recharge while your asleep ? So that way the next day you can use your dap without worrying about playing it while it's connected to the usb just because you didn't bother recharging ?
Even the scratch issue Meizu even put a sticker label saying not to remove that thin plastic cover because it is what prevents the scratching .... you can't blame Meizu if you don't want to bother reading the warning labels and take it off then blame others for your mistakes ... =_=; it just seems a tad unfair.
The valid cons with the Meizu would be that it doesn't have gapless playback which i find a bummer -_-;
Some people are reporting that there are problems at the end of tracks :x
I don't own a Meizu YET but i am getting the SL from the company i ordered from once Meizu's factory starts producing the black colored Sl's :D
ps: stranded - mind sharing which company that is ? I might be interested in getting some if something goes wrong in the future ( e.g. brothers accidently taking off the protective film ... )Last edited by Moogle Stiltzkin; 10-06-2007 at 05:03 PM.

the company is in poland (dunno if that helps you) but i've seen lots of protectors on ebay (from USA mostly, very cheap), i've sent them a high quality picture of the player and this:

(7,7mm should be 7,7cm)
and about that:
I had a dust/grain on the screen, I thought that it's UNDER the plastic thingy and i wanted to take it out. but it turned out to be between meizu actual screen and the meizu box. and right now i sticked the plastic thing again, it looks ok (few bubbles but they're disappearing)Even the scratch issue Meizu even put a sticker label saying not to remove that thin plastic cover because it is what prevents the scratching .... you can't blame Meizu if you don't want to bother reading the warning labels and take it off then blame others for your mistakes ... =_=; it just seems a tad unfair.
my screen is fine (those scratches are really small) but the point is, why not use other plastic type? ive scratched it a little while rubbing the meizu cloth on it, and it left some scratches. and yes it is my fault. but this is not really an issue or anything, i dont care bout it
about the song stutter at the end, i hardly notice it. not a big issue to me.
and i don't want to play any songs while charging (why would i?)
startup time: could be faster than this, not such a big thing, but still, who needs to read MEIZU and MiniPlayer everytime you start it? imagine you press power/play and 2 seconds later you see the main screen ready to play
or just leave the MEIZU and MiniPlayer images only on first player use, or after updating the firmware
DaremoS
this camera of mine is really old, 3.2MegaPixels, simple MACRO mode was used, no flash, no zoom
i'll post some more pics while i'm outside with the player
