When I browse the artists or album, the tracks of the albums are shown in random order, and my M6 plays them in this order.
As expample the directory of the Blind Guardian album Nightfall in Middle-Earth:
As you can see, all tags are existent:Code:01 - War of Wrath.ogg 02 - Into the Storm.ogg 03 - Lammoth.ogg 04 - Nightfall.ogg 05 - The Minstrel.ogg 06 - The Curse of Feanor.ogg 07 - Captured.ogg 08 - Blood Tears.ogg 09 - Mirror Mirror.ogg 10 - Face the Truth.ogg 11 - Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns).ogg 12 - Battle of Sudden Flame.ogg 13 - Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill).ogg 14 - The Dark Elf.ogg 15 - Thorn.ogg 16 - The Eldar.ogg 17 - Nom the Wise.ogg 18 - When Sorrow Sang.ogg 19 - Out on the Water.ogg 20 - The Steadfast.ogg 21 - A Dark Passage.ogg 22 - Final Chapter (Thus Ends...).ogg
The display (and play) order of this album is the following. I use the filenames here and not the track title (without the number and the .ogg extension).Code:Processing file "01 - War of Wrath.ogg"... New logical stream (#1, serial: 30970a45): type vorbis Vorbis headers parsed for stream 1, information follows... Seems, that the titles were alphabetically ordered, but there are some tracks missed, like Face the Truth or Battle of Sudden Flame. Interesting is, that only the first 9 tracks of the album are listened and sorted alphabetically. All other tracks from the album aren't sorted by track number nor track title nor filename:
Anyone has any suggestions? I have no MP3 files, and no way to create them to check, that the player doesn't support the OGG comments completly.Code:10 - Face the Truth.ogg 20 - The Steadfast.ogg 21 - A Dark Passage.ogg 11 - Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns).ogg 12 - Battle of Sudden Flame.ogg 22 - Final Chapter (Thus Ends...).ogg 13 - Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill).ogg 14 - The Dark Elf.ogg 15 - Thorn.ogg 16 - The Eldar.ogg 17 - Nom the Wise.ogg 18 - When Sorrow Sang.ogg 19 - Out on the Water.ogg
Doesn't happens to this album only, I have the problem with all albums. I used the search of the forum, but I found no solution how to fix this. I could change the OGG title comment for each file, and hope, that the tracks are sorted correctly. But there are over 2500 files to edit ):
The 'Song order' has no effect.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHy,
I had the same problem with my M6SL, some ogg files played alphabetically instead of ordered by tracknumber, only in album/artist view.
I found out that the TOTALTRACK information caused the confusion. I removed it from the tags, and the album played as expected.
If the problem still occurs after removing TOTALTRACK from the tag, you could try to place al leeding 0 to all tracks < 10....Interesting is, that only the first 9 tracks of the album are listened and sorted alphabetically...
Hope this helps, greetings
Sober
