Just wondering if there have been any reviews (in english please) of the M6SL yet? I am waiting to find out how good the M6SL is compared to the M6 before I pull the trigger on an 8GB model.

Of Course they did this!!!... they have thousands of "reviewers" in their staff... the thing is that all this reviewers are saying that AAC is good!... that iPod delivers good sound!... which simply is not truth.
Apple iPod is good in manufacture and software... but sound is poor... and AAC is the worse audio codec.
I can't give my opinion about video, because I want to be objective and I haven't had the chance to watch an iPod video player, this make a big difference with iPod reviewers.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell I realize it has been less than a day, a lot of products (not just iPod's) actually have product out to reviewers before the release date but due to NDA's, the reviews can't be released until the product is (see just about any computer hardware website and you will see what I mean). I was just hoping this was the case for the M6SL. I am trying to make my decision on which to buy M6 or M6SL before 10/1.
Edit: Also, where is the new firmware?!?!?! I was kind of assuming that the relese of the M6SL would also bring with it the new firmware but I haven't seen anything of that nature yet (although I can't read chinese soooo....)

Meizu M6 SL does Flac, APE, Wav, OGG, WMA, and MP3.
On the other hand what music formats does the Ipod do ? Mp3 and AAC ....
Or if you want to get more technical and precise...
source: http://www.everymac.com/systems/appl...d-quality.htmlWhat music formats does the iPod support?
All iPod models have an upgradable firmware that "enables support for future audio formats". According to "About Compatible Song Formats" from the Apple Support Site, iPod models using the most up-to-date firmware support "MP3 (from 32 Kbps to 320 Kbps), MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR), AIFF, WAV (with no compression), M4A AAC, M4P AAC (Protected), M4B AAC (iTunes Store Spoken Word files), and Apple Lossless".
The iPod shuffle models support "AAC (M4A, M4B, and M4P up to 320 Kbps), MP3 (up to 320 Kbps), MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR), WAV, and AA (Audible spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4)".
For details on the formats supported at the time of release of any particular iPod, please refer to the specs page for the model of interest.
So what if their firmware upgradable ? it's not like they have the good music format support now or anytime soon. Besides the Meizu hardware outputs some good audio which is better than Ipod.
So what exactly are these Mac heads so excited over in an Ipod i do not understand ... I do not even buy my music so why do i need itunes for ? o_O; *blank stare
That is my 50 cents.
I think this is a review on the SL, but i can't say for sure.

We better put aside all prejudices concerning iPod quality... and examine some reasonable facts:
One fact is that iPod started the race of DAPs... when Apple release its first device they put together the best to manufacture a player that plays AAC files... soon they add MP3... by that time a player bringing a reasonable sound and a formidable marketing was enough to satisfy the huge demand that will be generated.
Was Apple iPod designed thinking in a excellent sound?... there is not reason for that... all was depending on a good marketing campaign and still is so... we are not talking of a device than brings bad sound... just average or good... but definitively not excellent.
Why they should have spend lots of money investigating for good sound?... beside all the money the invest in marketing and the product itself.
Why they should add an audio processor to a device so successful?... when all consumer believe that its sound is good.
That's why iPod is still the same machine and so are Koreans, who share the same commercial concept with Apple... while Chinese manufacturers to beat the Big Apple have need to put the best possible sound to their devices... just to compete in a better way.
That's why well known Chinese brands have gone into dedicated audio decoders like Philips and Wolfson. This have been done by Meizu, Teclast and Onda.
