I was trying to figure this out but had no luck. Is there a way to manually search for FM stations? Some of the stations I know have reception in my area are not showing up when I update my station list.

Sometimes the manual tuner does not want to respond especially after an auto scan. If you are in radio press the Menu and select station list and choose any of the frequencies listed. When you drop back into radio press the enter button to enable manual tuning then you should be able to move up and down the frequency with << >>.
Better still if you know your local station frequencies you can edit the FM.ini that is in the SYSTEM folder on your player like so.
[FM]
CH00 = 08990, Times FM
CH01 = 09100, ZM Radio
CH02 = 09820, Radio Viva
CH03 = 09900, Radio Hauraki
Then go into Radio\Menu\Select Station List and set it to Ext.List.
Then your FM.INI preset stations will be available.
