    cleaning with polish remover

hey, i just came back form a 2 week vaction and i notice that there were some dirty thing stuck between my crystal case and the meizu, but i decided it was just dust or w.e. and was gonna clean it out when i come back, but then i found out they were small white hard material, stuck to the screen and the case... i tried to scratch it off with finger nails and used a soaked tissue, still didnt work.... so i thot maybe i have to go a bit more extreme, so i was wondering if i can use polish remover to clean the screen without damaging it,,, thansk

    It isn't a scratch.

Those cleaning fluids will damage the player. They are abrasive and harsh. Try using alcohol on a cotton swab. That should work.

I could be wrong, but I think mbarry meant rubbing alcohol, but I guess vodka would work. :D The rubbing alcohol would be cheaper though and less likely to make someone want to lick your player.:P

I think what BooBoo, meant was that Barry meant it's best if you drink
the Vodka, and then you not only won't notice the scratches, but won't
care if you do notice !

The best you can do now is to scrub it off with something hard, like 2000 grit sand paper. You have to be carful NOT to sand through the protective layer. Keep the sandpaper wet at all times. Don't use displex either, because it only polishes, but doesn't remove things stuck on the screen. Can you upload a photo to see what we are dealing with? That would be very helpful.

i cant do a picture because it is very small and i dont have a camera that high quality.. ut i can explain it in more detail, it is VERY flat agaisnt the screen, so tha you cant even feel it if you just ru your finer across it, but you can feel a tiny bump whenu ue finger ails to run across it, they are white specs about smaller in area than a grain of salt, theres about 5 of then, 4 in a more concentrated area, and then a 1-2 others around elsewhere...

well - i would guess that these particiles are some kind of fine sand/silicium. there are some acids out there, that dissolve sand - but i wouldn't recommend using them, it's overkill.

do you have an good magnifying glass with which you can check if these splinters are under the protective cover and from which direction they did "enter"?

Riolist's right. Nail polish remover is like the worst thing you can use on an mp3 player. Trust me, been there, done that, and learned from my stupidity. It all started when I wanted to get rid of a couple scratches and ended with me having to chuck an expensive mp3 player in the trash because the remover not only REMOVED the scratch (and a chunk of plastic along with it), it seeped into the cracks and destroyed my player. My advice - keep nail polish remover FAR, FAR away from anything electronic.

Try sanding it with 2000 grit sandpaper. That should get rid of it. Is it on the player itself, or on the protective covering? You can buy another protective cover.
