Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAre they nuts?!! I'm sorry, but I really, really, don't get this. What's the point? I don't think anyone, anywhere, ever, found the original M6 too thick. Cutting down on a valued, necessary, fundamental feature such as battery life in order to 'correct' a 'problem' that is not a problem indicates to me that someone at Meizu has lost touch with what really matters to users (and with reality), and that scares me. I've been interested in the M6 since it came out, but until now i've held off buying one. Now i'm in the market for a new player, and i've had my eye on the 8GB M6. I've always been impressed with the specs, and with the glowing reviews and what appears to be a high level of user satisfaction. I was also initially very impressed by what appeared to be Meizu's responsiveness to new users and apparent willingness to implement features that the users requested. But the M6 has been out what - two years now? and as far as I know bookmards still hasn't been implemented (unless i'm mistaken that was one of the earliest requests). If i'm wrong about that i'd love to hear otherwise because that's one of my most valued features in a dap.
The M6 may be a great player (I don't own one yet) but if evidence of Meizu the company is to be believed, they are doing nothing to make it better, and are in fact acting to make it worse! How can I believe that Meizu will stand behind this player with desirable firmware upgrades when they are busy implemeting serious hardware downgrades? It's ridiculous!
I'm seriously questioning whether I should buy an M6 at all. I would sincerely value and appreciate opinions from long time users and those who have associated more closely with Meizu and their products than I.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThey are not nuts. Nothing is certain until release. It's going to be around the same price but a bit more, you get heaps more features, more bug fixes, a thinner body, and all that you have to complain?
I know the M6 itself is not thick at all, and I agree with you. However, I think releasing such a player is purely to satisfy the hunger of Meizu-seekers in China. Have you read the posts in Meizu BBS? They basically spam the same questions, "when is the M6SL/M6SE/M3SE/M8 going to be released?". With such a big battle stage that the MP3 is holding, if you don't release a player every now and then, you will lose the battle and lose potential customers - something Meizu BBS posters have been saying, "I think i will get the Nokia N95... M8 is taking too long".Meizu M8 MiniOne

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIsn't there a quote in this very thread from J Wong that it will have 'the same basic features' as the current M6 but be thinner and have less battery life? I saw no mention prior to your post about 'heaps more features'. I can only base my conclusions on the information I read. Can you be specific about the new features? As far as bug fixes, really? Meizu fixes bugs by releasing a new model?? And that's a good thing??

Perhaps to solve the hiss problem, that would be sweet.
Give me M6SE I want tv-out, that could be nice.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNew control and audio chips for M6SP too?
How can I know, when I buy one new, if have new or old components?
I hope that they'll explain differences expected!
I could change my M6 for 7 bucks!

I think that the new components will only be in the M6SL player. But who knows...

the battery on the standard m6 sp is not that great anyway to drop more battery life for a few mm's is just stupid, I really doubt their will be any new features and many of the old bugs will probably still be there, obviously i'm crossing my fingers that they won't though. If the track skipping issue with files with no silence at the end is still there then I won't be buying any meizu product until the m8.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postswill it be lighter too? if it's just thinner and weighs about as much then there's really no point. not that it currently weighs too much anyway.
I'll be willing to pay $10 more for a thinner, lighter M6 with bugs fixed and no hiss. I'm returning the current one to walgreen in any event.
