question on meizu brand silicone case

i just got a mini 4g black SP, and love the silicone case--except for the bit that covers the touchstrip. it clearly messes up the touchpad functionality. i may just end up cutting that bit out of the silicone.

in the meanwhile, i was thinking of purchasing the meizu branded silicone case, which clearly has an opening for the touchscreen. i read marcelo1251's review of it here:

    http://miniplayer.info/meizu_silicone_case_review.asp

and was kinda disappointed that the silicone is less sticky as i love the feel of the generic brand silicone case that i assume everyone gets with their mini player. but hey, silicone is silicone, right?

anyway... on to my actual question:
is the clear protective screen provided with the case any different from the thin layer of plastic that the meizu already comes with? or is it different? should i remove the material already covering the miniplayer before applying it? or keep it around for when my current clear-coating gets scratched up?

    thanks!!

Hi yao... nice to know you found my review. First of all, it is less sticky than the PC Case one but, sticky enough to hold and protect your player... The Meizu one is also build with a better silicone material (if you get one you'll know what im talking about :D).

Regarding your question, it is indeed, the same plastic layer that comes with your player. The idea is, when the current protective film get scratched, you remove such film (by using your nails) and then you replace it with the new one. Do not apply over the current film b/c you could get something bulky and not clear on your screen.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

    tard that i am

where's a good place for a protective screen?

i purchased the 20(u.s.) dollar package from miniplayer site, complete with silicon and plastic covers.. and the adhesive scratch film. which i applied with plenty o air bubbles. i took it off to reposition (since it wasn't totally adhered) and about 10 poudns of dog and cat hair, and lint got stuck between the layers. typical..
so now i'm wihtouht a protective film.. sigh.. just the plastic enclosure mainly to prevent scratchin.
