Moving to the M6 and I have a few questions.

Well, after a week of so of lurking this forum and searching for reviews everywhere, I have finally decided to go with an M6. I've gone from an iPod Shuffle 512mb to a PSP with 2gb memory, but I got tired of the PSP all together and finally sold the memory stick due to lack of accommodating space. For the past few months, I have been using my iPod Shuffle (first gen) for music, and of course, that isn't enough space at all.

Basically, I'm picking up a 4GB M6 with the Sennheiser PX100 headphones, so I'm expecting a gracious jump ahead as compared to my current set-up. My earbuds are the PSP ones right now if you are wondering. I find the M6 attractive due to the video playback (this was a must), photo viewer, FM radio, backgrounds, small games (useful when you have nothing else), battery life, voice recorder, etc. etc. I'm sure most of you already have your player and know fully what it is capable of, so I'll leave my little self-hype paragraph at that.

    Anyways, to the questions.

    1. I hear that they sell the Meizu in stores at Walgreens, is this true, and if so, is it true for all Walgreens? I'm assuming the price is 100 dollars as on newegg.

    2. Does anyone know how the M6's sound quality compares to the PSP or 1g iPod shuffle? If you don't then please ignore this question. I'm sure that the equalizer will be able to fit whatever I want anyways, but I am just interested.

Thank you for your help! I hope to get the M6 SE as soon as I can (can't resist 720x480 at 30 FPS as well as 7mm thick), and I also hope to be here with you all for awhile.

walgreens took it off of their website not too long ago and now they are back up again, Im assuming their stock issue is resolving? fatwallet.com reported 3+ week delays.

if i were you, i'd check out JTC electronics (very good seller) and newegg. you'll bypass the tax (most likely) that walgreens will have on you that way.

I purchased some music cards from JTC, without a doubt i'd do it again.

    FYI, the M6SE won't have 720x480 at 30 FPS. that's the M8.

It doesn't say what resolution will the screen have, but it will be able to play videos in this resolution @ 30FPS...

I think we all know the answer to this question.
And the fact that you asked this question is in some way an insult...
The M6 is a million times better than a stupid iPod or a PSP.
M6 is one of the first DAPs that actually offered the user with a 10 band custom EQ which is heaven for music enthusiasts. So just because of that 10 band EQ it is enough to pwn iPod and PSP with their sh*tty preset EQs.

    Fully agreed, Job!

I have some DAPs from Creative. While the sound quality from them is great, the Meizus are clearly better, specially in the bass section of the spectrum.

I have ordered a Cowon D2, and it should arrive next week. Comparing the Meizus and the Cowon will be interesting...
    DAPs/Buds/Misc:
Cowon D2 4GB black + 8 GB Adata SD card SOON!
    M6 miniPlayer 8GB white • M3 Music Card 8GB black
    Zen Vision:M 30GB white • Zen Micro 5GB • Zen V Plus 4GB
Audio Technica ATH-CK7 • Koss PortaPro • PA2V2 portable amp NEW!

Well... when I want to listen something with more bass (electronic music, electronic rock, for instance) I tend to prefer the M6 over the M3. On the other hand, when I want to listen to symphonic metal or something classical, I usually go with the M3.

Not that I wouldn't listen to classical music with the M6... both are amazing! :D

Hey everyone, thank you for the responses! I have almost earned enough money to finally purchase my 4GB M6 with the PX100s, so I am pretty excited. I hope to write a review when I have enough time with it.

Echo, I am sorry I offended you, but your enthusiasm about the M6 shows me that I am probably making the right choice. I'm very happy for the EQ's abilities. I listen to a blend of classical and jazz mostly, although I do have a little bit of everything else (I won't go into all of that though).

Almoxil, I am interested to see how the D2 and M6 compare I considered doing a little more work for the D2, but I am not a big fan of touch screens because I always get crazy about wiping off the fingerprints. It's great to hear that the sound on both the M6 and M3 is excellent, but it looks like I might have to turn down my bass a little bit for my style of music. The bass that I get with my current combination (Shuffle and iPod earbuds) is literally nothing, so I'll probably be overwhelmed (with joy) when I actually hear the lower spectrum of my music.

Thank you for all of your help everyone!
