When sensation becomes normal

Just now after 4 Weeks I want to share my experience with my meizu. It's my personal reflection of my love to the M6. But ...

Why love? Because the player disappear in everyday use, without thinking of the handling. But If I want to show it, with this great skin I'm using I have the eyes of everyone.

Memory. The first thing is, that you never have too much of memory. If I had 40gb it would never be enough. 4gb is enough for having over 30 albums . Personally I have to learn the good practice, to go over my collection of estimated 900 albums and move it to m6. Sometimes I miss my favorite record, because my selection is focused on the newer one I "have" to listen. I will always come back to the classics after sometimes. So my last try is to split my collection into two parts ...

Duration. The duration is one of the features make my M6 almost disappearing over the day. Go to the menu, push the button, listen to music and walk on. My mobile needs more attention and I hate it when it's battery is finished after three days, almost unused. Recharging of the M6 is very effortless, no problem with any usb-port even with my sub-notebook I tried.

Sound. With my additionally bought In-Ear from AKG I have the best experience with portable sound I can remember. OGG is my favorite and I'm using very high quality (-q10) without any problems. I release myself to adjust the EQ-settings every hour. Small adjustment to low the bass a bit. It's better to keep one settings after some time after listen to different styles of music and live with it.

Video. Yeah next point, no need to argue about this unused feature. After 4 Weeks I removed all of my videos. I can say this with Sam Brown - "if I learn to listen ...". Next player will be m6 se, but without docking station, automatically upload of vidcasts like "tagesschau" it will have no use overall for me. But do I want this feature really? ...

Size and manufacture. Perfect, you want a better piece of hardware?! Go find a device with the quality of a IBM Thinkpad and a price of a nameless discounter product.

Software. Games ... I only use it as music-player. Music is my nurse to sing me into sleep, my booster pushing me forward. But playing with a player?! NO! It has to disappear after choosing the music. :-)

Wishes Interaction with my collection. Where is the list of albums I have played most on my M6??? Last.FM is so great, I want to keep my songs tracked my whole life with my id juturnapen and I want to have a feature which I can download my lists from the player up to last.fm.
More flexible with Album arts. Why not displaying the pics named cover.jpg or folder.jpg located in the folder of the album. I have to name it as the album ... oh boy, folders are an invention almost older than me...
Never be stolen or lost or broken ... until M8 or M6 se comes out :-))

I am using my M6 for listening to music 95%, video 5%. Still I like the idea that I could if I wanted. And just like to play around with new tech
Have you ever tried a FLAC instead of OGG ? The quality is simply amazing !

i dont think ill ever use that
my previous player(30gb ipod video) was filled with thausands of songs
problem is its humanly impossible to actually listen to even 25% of that and MP3 or OGG isnt good enough to use with a full sound system... so no 40GB for me

I only tried FLAC, I like the high ogg settings because you have a compressionfactor arround 5 makes my collection manageable. It's like using high jpeg compression. For my sense is okay to use compression with loss. :-)

If you grow over a number of albums the gb-count on modern mp3 player is meaningless. 4GB is very good for storing music maybe for a trip. But for every day use maybe to large!!! controversial - I know. That's why I want to use two "partitions" one for classics and one for new things on my player. My mp3player helps me getting in touch with my collection. You want a good mix for the day you have to think about it and dig deep and maybe you discover some hidden pearls... :-)
Just thinking about a trip to Aachen tomorrow, more than 6h train. I have to think harder than ever.

Nice thoughts, I can agree with most of them.
However I'm a student, so I can watch videos on the boring
lessons, so it's useful for me :D

Newbie here doing some research before getting a Meizu. Susanna, if mostly what you do is hear music and don't like to play with the player too much, then why not get the M3 instead? I know it's not much cheaper, but I heard sound quality is better. Is it not? Thx.

Thank you for your proposal. Yeah you are right, maybe now I would buy the M3 instead. It was not available in mp3player.de so I had no choice :-) But the MP4 videoplay thing of the next edition of M6 is a feature ... hm sounds very appealing.

as far as I remember, the M6 has the better battery (up to 32 hours mp3 with display off), and also more bass (that's really important for all the bass-heads outthere). And since the M6 is already tiny and beautiful, you have to really make up your mind if you really need a player that is even smaller than that. Best would be to find a local shop where you can try both before you buy.

Thanks for all the reply. Unfortunately they don't have a shop around here that we can try Meizus. From what I've been reading, they should. Favor M3 for the size but M6 for the video option, decision, decision. :D
