    software lock down...

i think, it would be great if meizu or some other script writer to make a security ware that will lock down the meizu if stolen...
enter a password when powering up or at the root folder section...

ive been trying to find this kind of ware, but to no avail..only encrypting wares...

c'mon meizu, hook the meizu users up with this type of ware!!!!

LOL the best you can do is use Resource Editor and edit the 'useful hints' sectionm and change it to name and phone so the robber can return it to you :D

I think there is nothing in the firmware that DFU tools cannot repair. In other words if you set you password on firmware level I use DFU and put there my own firmware and the problem is solved :D

I think the main idea is to simply take a bit of responsibility for your belongings, especially if they cost quite a bit.

If your MP3 player is stolen, its stolen. A password on the player won't give an incentive for the robber to return it to you. Just be careful of your belongings, check that everything is with you when leaving public transport, rooms etc. Takes one second to feel it in your pocket.

I think the idea was that if the player had a password on it then it wouldn't be useful to the person who stole it. But yea the firmware update would probably wipe it out and even then it isn't the best way to protect your stuff. The best way is yourself which is why my $2K laptop never leaves my sight.

It would be great to have option to lock M6. I loved it on my old iRiver IMP 450 - i´ve just locked the player during startup and nobody couldn´t see or hear my data if I don´t wanna...

You could use the Hide-A-Pod anti-theft device, nobody is interested in stealing a Zune.
