Noob here, couple questions if you have the time....
Incorrectly posted this in the new member introduction section, so I am pasting it here......
Since I am a noob, I have a few questions for the community:
Overall are you happy with your player? Would you buy another one?
Ive seen a few cases online, I need a case that can go onto a belt ot possibly a flip case, preferably leather, any ideas? Do you know of a case that will fit?
Are there any specific problems with MP3 VBR's, expecially ones that are in excess of an hour in length (live dj mixes)
Any tips for a beginner, advice?
What the hell is really up with the new firmware? Does it really blow that much, I read that it is recommended to upgrade as soon as I receive my new unit....
Also, Ive read through the new fw threads and about issues/bugs, I want to try to get a opinion that balanced/outside the current hate-a-thon going on inside the fw threads..........
Anyway, thanks for the advice, nice to meet everyone!!!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOverall, I am very happy with this player. I have not encountered any of the problems mentioned by people in this forum, and never used DFU tools. I think there is some problem with VBR being the bitrate too high, fast forwarding is a problem. Other then that, I think the M6 reads the music files fine.
Tips: Show-off your M6 when people pull out their iPods :P
No the new firmware is better then ever. The features are great, just 1 feature that no one likes very much - automatically music library update.
Overall, fixes and new features definitely overrides previous firmwares.Meizu M8 MiniOne

I'm very happy with the M6 too! I have the latest Firmware on it, because its very useful, Okay sometimes the Auto Update of the Music-Library is annoying but you should take it. I have problems getting any accessories for the player, but I will not buy any Ipod with all the fancy stuff you get for the player, instead of the meizu. (the pedometer was the craziest "enhancement", I discover for the Ipod)
My only tip is the hard reset. I have to use it once ...
My Meizu Won't Turn On
Hope you enjoy your player as much as I do.
Play with the skins, here you can find a lot of very good ones.
I'm using the great skin named L'Amour from ErrOr for over one week now.Small moves, Ellie, small moves.

Awesome, I'm looking forward to my experience, thanks for the tips everyone. Right now I am looking to buy a case that can take a beating in the field, because I'm and IT guy, as well as a meizu brand wall charger for the unit. Can someone recommend a site that sell genuine accessories. I saw that a few sellers in the marketplace sell the silicone meizu brand cases, but I haven't seen any of the meizu brand wall chargers anywhere...
Thanks

maybe ebay?! :-)))
But I'm searching for a cheap supplier too. I'm using an old USB-charger from my broken creative zen. I have no case, and no protection, I try to keep it alone in the pocket. But I like to wear it in my hand also.. In the train I have the eyes from anybody! :DSmall moves, Ellie, small moves.

I also have a usb charger from a broken zen (creative sucks). The M6 is definitely a sexy device, I cant wait to show it off to my co workers. Since its summer all we do are updates all day long on computers, I'm looking forward to using the m6 to watch some shows and listen to music while I work... (Since its summer the buildings are closed, and I'm pretty much by myself
and its ok to use an mp3 player :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI don't do anything special to protect my M6 either. I find it to be quite scratch resistant, especially the front screen. Like protocl, I keep it in the original white sleeve that it comes in.

The difference between the Meizu branded products and the non-OEM is negligible for the most part. The Meizu brand wall charger is just like any of the similar chargers coming from China except it has the Meizu name stamped in it. It isn't UL listed, just as all of the other chargers out there aren't either. In fact, because of the size, it's probably the least portable out there.
The Meizu silicone case is the best as far as fit, but you can't get any accessories to go with it like armbands or belt clips like the PC Case products.
As for a rugged case that protects, the Crystal Case is the best one for that. You can still view easily, and it protects the screen, unlike silicone cases.
Overall, accessories are pretty minimal, especially when compared to the big brands. Remember, these aren't in the big box stores, so the volumes are very low compared to Apple, Samsung, iRiver, etc., which makes producing accessories for them very expensive because they just don't have the mass to warrant a big investment.

Thanks, I think I'll be making an order from your site as I have seen how involved you are with the people on this board and your prices are excellent....
