    Clix vs. M6

Yeah. So the headliner should make it pretty obvious... it's yet another one of those threadies on what to buy coupled with a few annoying Q's...

So I was hoping someone was feeling up to it inspite of...

    Anyways... a few quick Q's :

So... is "the hiss" really THAT bad or is it just the normal background hiss found in most players at a very low (I.e. 1-5) volume?

Exactly what is the difference between TP and SP and is there any downsides to the SP or vice verca in soucnd quality, video yadyada?

Is there still FLAC on SP and are there any issues with the FW concerning it?

Video sync-issue... Fixed, not fixed... easy to fix manually?

How does the M6 hold up to, say... the CLIX in terms of sound, video-q etc?

General FW-opinion... Is it solid or what? I've read quite a few complaints but those are to be expected I guess... so... is it a rich mans struggle or a poor mans burden?

Cheers (and thx for your divine patience).

Clix 1G and M6 uses same audio processor, so the SQ and hiss would be (more or less) the same.

The firmware is already very mature. Most complaints come from new users. The issue with FLAC is that the player does not show a moving equalizer, problem not specific to SP.

TP/SP issue is already covered extensively in forums, FAQ and Wikipedia.

For retailer-specific questions, go to their corresponding sub-forum.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Hiss is not bad at all. Its there mainly if you know it but its not there during music playback so its not really an issue(for me). please note all mp3 players have a certain amount of hiss.

This is no longer a relevant issue as TP players are no longer made or sold. all current players are SP. TP was made by Toshiba, SP by Samsung. SP has slightly brighter screen. For the rest the players are identical.

Video sync is getting better. sometimes it its still out of line a tad. its also depends for a large part on the program you use to convert your vids. Use a good one and you wont have problems.

Clix and M6 are very comparable. They both have their pros and cons. Clix displays a slightly higher frame rate, the M6 display is larger, clix is thick, m6 is thinner, sound wise they are both very good. M6 is cheaper

Solid as hell, seriously... its one of the best build mp3 players i have ever come across. the complaints you read are there because this is THE place where people come when they have a problem. You don't hear the non-complaints. The player is very well made and comes with a great scratch protector on it so no scratches on your screen of metal back like you would get with the ipod.

    DOH!

Searched all the forums (as well as the FAQ:s in them) but completely missed the FAQ-button.

But... the first gen Clix is only at 15 fps and the M6 at 20... right??

Anyways... Thx a ton you guys. Seems like a done deal and I'm ordering one today.

You could save me some serious time by posting your settings and what you use (instead of me sorting thru the clutter of what setting to use on what fw etc etc etc - would be greatly appreciated). *puppy-eyes*
