Hi Folks,
I am getting really bad radio reception with the miniplayer. My previous player (iRiver) had a clear signal for the entire journey from home to work. With the mini player I have trouble hearing anything over the static.
Is this just normal for the Meizu or is there a problem with my player? It is a shame as all the other features are great!
Thanks!
All the best,
Ash

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postshmm... i'm not sure, i'm not having much trouble with the FM radio. sure, there is occassional static but i can more or less listen to my favorite station everyday.
i think the earphones you use also contribute to the radio reception, and perhaps even the firmware you use.
although, there seems to be a general concensus among m6 owners and reviewers that the miniplayer's radio IS weaker than most other DAPs. anyone care to confirm?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell, my M6's radio has brilliant reception almost anywhere(note the almost)
I think your problem might be in the earphones because they are used as the antenna.
Could i ask what headphones you are currently using? The GUN pointed at the HEAD of the UNIVERSE

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMiniplayer FM Radio does not have the best reception, iRivers and others are noticble better, I think Meizu went with a cheaper radio chip compared to others who may be using philips radio chip.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi Folks,
Thanks for the replies, I am currently using creative labs in-ear earphones (EP-630). I was thinking they may be the problem, anyone else use a similar style earphone and get a decent reception?
I also find that the radio volume is really low, I need to have it at around 22 whereas i'd usually listen to mp3s or xvids at around 10-12.
Maybe i'm just spoilt from using the iRiver radio.
All the best,
Ash

The Radio reception is quite fine for me. The only "problem" I recognized is the noise that appears when the screen fades darker or fades out after a certain time. This seems to influence the radio signal - even though this does not effect the normal sound of mp3's and so on.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi i have the Ep-630 too. I also find the radio volume low, I have it at 20 at the radio and like 10-12 on my mp3 songs. The reception is pretty bad for me cant get more then 3 "point "( the reception thing in the left upper corner) at home or is 3 max ?, then i guess the reception is good
. I cant get in all the radio stations but i havent tried hard to get all of them in though. I don't know if it is the earphones or so but i usually dont use the radio either.
Edit: I think the radio is pretty good sitting here llissening on the radio a bit. The sound is clear even if i have onle one "point".Last edited by Eidor; 12-06-2006 at 08:19 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi think this is normal for the m6 as i also find that i have to turn the volume up quite a bit for radio listening. for radio i generally go up to 25 while for music average volume is 15.
you can always create an fm.ini file that contains all the radio stations you want to listen to. you can even put in the name of that station and it will appear when you listen to that station. i think there was a post for this in the prior forum. maybe someone can provide you with a sample file. i'd do it myself but i'm using the office computer right now so i have no personal files in here.

Didn't you guys read the manual? There are quite a few features that I didn't know about and found them in the manual. For example, I'll start to copy some lyric files onto my miniplayer soon.

I'm having a bad time with radio reception. I use the standard M6 headphones and can't pick up any stations at all.

My radio works pretty well, I can quite a number of stations, and they are clear.
I am using the standard meizu earphones btw.

The Meizu Radio has noticeable worse reception when compared to my IAudio MP3/FM receiver. It's OK, I guess but I got more static, more times signal below the stereo threshold than with my IAudio.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsTurn screen off.
On both the radio and voice record I get lots of background hiss. If I press the 'M' button for a few seconds to turn the screen off all the hiss dissapears and the reception is great.
