Yes, I am afraid that is correct; but this one is slightly different.
My player, SL6, has worked fine for the last three years or so. Due to a few corrupt song files, I performed a hard set and used the DFU application to reset the player. New songs loaded and appeared to be working fine again.
Unfortunately now when the player goes into 'screen saver mode' (with songs still playing happily in the background) I cannot get it to show the screen again. I can hear the clicking when I touch the pad and it responds to the controls (fwd, pause, stop) but I can't see the screen. Only way to get the screen back is to turn off in the normal way (holding the play/pause button).
I have connected it to the PC and copied new resource files a couple of times with no luck. Any suggestions?
If this was not such a good player I would forget it but I really like it.

Have you tried a different firmware?

Checked and saw I was loading version M6_SL2.004.6. I have DL'ed 4.7 and will give that a go.
Tested fine- screnn saver turns off once the controls are selected- like new again.
I notice this firmware has two different USB modes. Which one should we be using?

Sorry found the answer to the USB issue.
MSC is more genral whereas MTP tells the computer it is a multimedia device.
This really is a great little player.
