    M6 + Car USB Interface

    Hi there,

got myself a new car that sports an usb interface to connect media players and usb storage devices to the car's board computer.

The manual of the car entertainment system states the following requirements for an usb device in order to work:
    - msc usb mode
    - fat32
    - sector size 512 bytes
    - max cluster size 32 kb
    - max folder depth of 11

When I connect the M6 to the usb port the board computer tells me the device isn't supported. Now I'm a bit confused, as the M6 should meet the requirements stated above.

Firmware of the M6 is S 2.004.6. I remembered that Meizu removed the USB mode settings with the 2.004.x series of firmware (if I remember correctly). I assumed the M6 would use MSC as default with this firmware - and Windows also recognized the device as an storage device instead of a media device, which would be the case with MTP - but maybe it's not really running in proper MSC mode?

No idea if sector and cluster size of the M6 comply with the requirements though.

    Any ideas?

Sorry I can't help with your problem, but I just use a FM tuner that plugs into the cigarette lighter....much easier.

That wouldn't be necessary as there's an audio jack as well.
Connecting the M6 through USB would have been sweet though - since with audio jack i always have to adjust the equalizer and dsp settings...

Well, guess I have to live with it

Hmm, you shoult turn player ON and wait for complete loading, then plug your player to car audio. It works fine for me, but when I connect player whei it turned off, it's only charging.

If you already doing the above, then you just got the wrong car.
You may any time downgrade your player to get back those USB mode settings if you want that, not sure it will bring any good in your case.
