Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyou could always set the backlight timer to a shorter time and also set the backlight brightness to a minimum.
just a word of advise, since you've already posted the other thread about screen size, you should've posted this query in there as well since they both refer to the screen of the m6. i think it's a bit of a waste to post 2 threads with related queries.

how many hours are you trying to get out of the player?
The meizu will easily do 20 even if you use the screen(to brows files etc that is, not watch video)
the screen turns itself off after a certain amount of seconds(i believe the minimum is 2)
i use my miniplayer a lot and have not noticed any decline in its battery life...actuality new firmware extended it

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBig screen is good in a sense that you will use it. If you just use it as a music player, then a big screen is useless. You need the big screen to view videos.
That said, I could imagine the M6 having a feature where you could press a button combo and turn the screen completely off, enabling just the next/previous/play/pause/volume up down functions. To turn the screen back on, press and hold some button like the M button for 3 seconds

hmmm not with mine ...
I use it to play mp3 or radio at work (10 hours) and do NOT change in between (i.e. start radio or MP3 ant beginning of day, switch of when i'm home) as well as shutting the screen doen (holding M-Button some secs) and it JUST survives. when i'm home after 10 hours the battery is about to die !Inoffical MeizuFAQ : http://www.MeizuPlayer.info

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhe battery life is affected by a lot of factors such as playing volume, quality of music files, format of music files, strength of the signal (for radio), screen brightness, EQ settings and sound effects. if you're using a lot of sound enhancements, it could cut into your battery life. also, using other formats for your music will also shorten battery life.
