    best mp3 ripper

hi everyone, i just bought myself a miniplayer a few days back, before that had an ipod so used itunes most of the time.

but since the miniplayer doesnt like reading files ripped by itunes and decided not to show the artist names and stuff, i think it would be a good idea to use another program for ripping.

what i really want is a complete music info database, as i have alot of non english cds i would appreciate it if the program can give me the info of those cds. and also sound quality would be good.

    thanks for the help.

Maybe you can try Media Monkey. I've heard that works pretty well.

I've heard great things about Exact Audio Copy, it can rip very accurately. It supports many audio formats, and if you want to archive, it supports the lossless .flac format as well as the standard .mp3 format.

If you just want a ripper, try Monkey's Audio. It has a small filesize, but it has extremely good SQ for it's filesize. Or you could just drag and drop the .wav files directly to your player for lossless audio, but keep in mind that a 3:00 track in .wav is roughly 30MBs.

    A few months late but . .

    Hello
You might want to try the Bonk Encoder at The BonkEnc Project - BonkEnc Home

It's an open source project that's very stable and acts as a front end
for LAME and EAC mp3 rippers.
It can rip in FLAC and APE, plus OGG VORBUS.
All open lossey or lossless formats plus WMA if you like.

I still like MediaMonkey Gold (paid version) for db management & transfer.
MMG does a good job of always recognizing my M6.
