Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsToo late meizu....
After seeing some phones released at the WMC I have to say that the meizu is far behind.... after two years of waiting they release a phone that feels kinda dissapoiting since the lack of WiFi. I think that if meizu want to be big in the future and compete with the big companys in the future they really have to things up. They could have released a early stage phone to buy time and keep the fans and customers from getting less interested in this phone. Im not a apple fanboy but I have to say the apples strategy on the iphone was pretty good, first they release a working phone with lack of things like mms, 3g, GPS and so on.. people got busy with the phone and they bought them selfs some time to develop a more complete phone (Iphone3G).
This is just my oppinion though..... What do u guys think?

Yeah, the thing is that people keep thinking about things with an international perspective. Please keep in mind that Meizu is focusing on their domestic market. "Being big in the future" and "competing with the big companies" are not what Meizu has stated to be their goals. Common, I mean all this company had to offer two years ago was just mp3/mp4 players. Now...they have actually created a solid, stylish touch-screen phone that many people enjoy using - a big leap if you ask me.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI don't only see this in internatinal pespective, just look at the chinese mobile market now, there are at least 5 phones with the same price that is better. Gigabyte. And of course you guys enjoy the phone because you have to, you've waited for two years and then got the phone, it's pretty lame then to think bad about the phone because then you've done a really bad deal. So many of you force yourselfs to like the phone more then you do I believe. I mean no one of u cant really say that the phone isn't a bit of a dissapointment to what all of us waited for....

I don't want to drag out this tired argument, but
could you name those 5 phones please?just look at the chinese mobile market now, there are at least 5 phones with the same price that is better.
I was really excited about the Nokia 6208c to help practice Chinese-character writing, but good grief, it's 2000 RMB.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostBut the guy is telling the true. I visited MWC too I saw amazing phone´s, some of them are less, some will cost more. Meizu is now far behind. Who in hell wants to buy a dualband phone like M8 is? Not for such a price. Wifi is not working very well too some people report and I agree, that company needed to much time to release it. I hope for the people of Meizu that this M8 will be not the end. Regarding to what I see at the MWC ( know Meizu guys there I think - also not as visitor ) the company is 1 year back in its inovations now.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostThis is incorrect. The demo versions that have been sold so far are quad-band. J.Wong himself has stated that it supports 4 bands, and that their website just shows 2 because that's waht they have officially registered.
I agree with you in that the M8 specs are now quite a bit behind some of the stuff shown at MWC, but it is still a nice phone, with a very competitive price. You must keep in mind that phones with huge specs such as the Omnia HD will not be cheap. They might cost more that 3 times the price of the M8, for all we know.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsrealize that some specs are behind. But the OS is the first running windows ce 6
That has yet to even begin a simple alpha release. So in that, it is far ahead of many potential phones. If I used a service with SIM I would get this phone...

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Postnot to get off on a rant, but lets be honest. How much innovation did we see at the WMC? Lets see, we have cool new phones running on Symbian, WinMO 6.1 and 6.5, and Android. Nothing innovative nothing amazing nothing revolutionary. New designs on old tech. WinMO will still put you at a bland white screen when you want to do anything that actually deals with the OS. Android has huge potential and in reality can and will be anything that users want it to be because of its open source. And Symbian, which is polished and runs nice but isn't ready yet for touch screen only operations (5800 Xpress Music anyone). Then of course you ave the mighty Iphone...which is...the iphone.
There is nothing new, nothing mindblowing. Screens get bigger, but we still aren't making capacitive screens with WinMO, and so the best alternative (till we get the Palm Pre) is the M8(or the new LG PRADA which is a terrible phone). People choose a phone based on ability and capability. The M8 has a lot of potential especially since we have the SDK, WinCE will go as far as we, the consumers, take it. We haven't even reached fw 1.0 yet. The technology is only as up to date as we will make it

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post@style:
Are you kidding? There was a lot of amazing stuff shown at MWC this year! In fact, I don't remember an event where so many breakthrough products were shown by so many different brands!
For example, Statum's multitouch technology is innovative, and it really amazed me. It's basically the smoothest touch UI ever... and the most incredible was that they demonstrated it doing multitouch on a resistive touchscreen!
Stantum's mind-blowing multitouch interface on video! - Engadget
Regarding phones, there were lots of new products announced which, besides MinMobile, were just amazing because of their huge hardware specs. The Samsung Omnia HD, with that gorgeous AMOLED screen and being the world's first phone to record 720p video, is a good example. Toshiba's TG01 with that 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and some of Sony Ericson's, LG's, and HTC's phones are also good examples.
For me, this MWC marked a huge leap in hardware specs since the past generation of smartphones, and also a focus on improved user interfaces (LG's S-Class UI, for example). The market seems to have become much more aggressive.
PS: and there as also a GSM Palm Pre over there! :DLast edited by Traps; 02-22-2009 at 02:46 AM.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Poststantum multitouch is amazing, but its technology...nothing that will hit our market in the next year or so...I can imagine the fun that would be with WinMO....but be honest, its not gonna happen.
Toshiba TG01, still running on WinMo, its ugly, not all that innovative. But ok, Snapdragon looks amazing, but its not anything compared to say the NVidia Tegra. I've been with HTC almost my whole phone life, I know its awesome with the new TouchPro and Touch2...but its still TouchFlo3D built on WinMo. That Samsung OMNIA HD, has my heart...no lie. So No comment on that.
To me it just seems like this years MWC was a year that touch screen became the fad. I love it honestly...but Lets see some real innovation. Someone stand up and say...We're gonna do it this way and we don't care. Except for Palm (georgous UI) I don't feel like we are really innovating things. Hardware Hardware Hardware...Takes us nowhere without creativity. Cool flowing ugly panels (Toshiba) doesn't strike me as innovative.
That could be what I like about the Meizu M8...its a far cry in technology and hardware than whats coming out, but it makes up for it in style. Much props for WinCE. I like where the soul of this phone is, I like don't say attitude of Mr. Wong...I like the potential of this software, I think this phone is a winner weather it wins or not.
Blind love, cute isn't it

The Hardware ist ok. The OS is ok. What now needs to hurry is a stable and 100% functional FW. After that a few really good Apps should follow. Then the Fan-Cummunity will follow. I beleive in You!
It needs something else than iPhone - i have the first Gen from the Begenning; and the 3G. Still no copy paste, no bluetooth - no flash. The iPhone ist gorgeos - but the company is not. So I beleive in Meizu!
