New Phones @ The World Mobile Congress
Well after seeing the reports from the world mobile congress the M8 is really starting to look very dated. These devices in particular caught my eye >>

ARM have also announced a multi core cpu 3 times as powerful as the iphones cpu not to mention of course the 1ghz snapdragon used in the panasonic TG01. A prototype of nvidia's tegra platfrom was also shown running android. Windows mobile 6.5, HD video and 12 mp cameras coming too, a lot of high res touchscreens aswell.
1 thing I havn't seen a lot of though is capacitive touch panels (as opposed to resistive). Can't help thinking that for the international customer the M8's arrival on the market is all too little too late (not to mention the high price). What do people rekon?

Really, this was all a foregone conclusion; we knew we'd see all the industry heavyweights throwing their collective weight around and we've talked for months about the M8's raison d'etre as a phone for China.
Funny thing is at this moment the M8 still stacks up and Meizu could still actually score some points since WinMo 6.5 is due Q4, nVidia's Tegra a vague "mid-2009", and Android phones still thin-to-MIA. All these new processors are great, but they're still dependent on manufacturers' product development roadmaps. And of course, the Omnia and TG01 look unbelievable, but at what price?
Other than that, I don't know what to say other than I'm waiting for Meizu to say something on the record. They can't continue to expect fans and other interested buyers to glean nuggets of information from rumors and musings translated by kind souls from various forums and BBS posts.

Forgot to mention I think the most interesting news coming from this party is that the "app store" has now evolved into an integral part of the mobile market.
Give it to Apple; they've popularized another concept to the point where it's a must-do business strategy.

the hd phones are okay, but the touch pro 2 has my vote for best in show this year...
meizu is a slightly better device in that it is running a base of wince 6, something that hasn't even been released yet (winmo 6.5 runs on wince 5)
so on OS, I will go for meizu but hardware...touch pro 2 just because I love my keyboard
