We had a poll like this before, but since the phone has changed a lot since then, I'm curious if you're opinion has changed or not. So the question is, are you planning on buying one after it's officially available? Or maybe just the second generation?
I've been waiting for this phone since it was announced, so I'm going to get one as soon as possible
How about you?Last edited by nice2know_u; 12-21-2008 at 03:02 PM.

Yes, but I think I'll wait for a little more, and see how it is first
That is all.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsThe M8 has got less interest for me since a release in Europe is nowhere in sights and Dane-Elec did unfortunately dropped Meizu. I am not interesting to buy it from somewhere in China. I did stock in customs recently and that was pretty hard getting rid of it again and expensive too.
Go ifun with iPhone? No thanks I don't like its lack of file format supports and iTunes.
If there will be a trustworthy store somewhere in Europe I would be still interested buy one. Sure. Just I think I want a 16GB but its look like we need to wait long see this one and the 3G version might be worth waiting for too.
Hmm...Maybe I should use my money on a Cowon S9 PMP instead.
This is a bit difficult question right now but I wote for number 2 for now.

Even though I've had an M8 in my hand (2 of them, actually...too bad I had to give them back), I can still wait. Never been an early adopter, though; I leave that to the crazed fans.
I'd like to see Meizu get their network license first and, while that's going on, will watch as the firmware gets even better and more apps are developed/released.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt looks great, has just about everything I want but for me it's a lot of money for a new product that there's still a lot we don't know about yet (long-term reliability is hard to test). I'd also like to see a European release first, I think it will happen eventually. So I'll wait and see and stick with my M6 and cheap phone for now.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostInitially I thought I'd definitely wait for a proper European release, to avoid the kind of problems The Torminator referred above. Also, customer support is a big hassle when it means having to send your phone back to China..
However, having read all the reviews, I've become more impatient to have an M8 of my own. and since an EU release is still not in the foreseeable future, I'm now considering the possibility of buying it online when they start selling officialy and the 16GB becomes available. I'm still not 100% sure though, so I voted for number 2.
The still-just-a-rumor 2nd generation is even more appealing to me, but I'm not sure I can wait until it gets released

Interested in 2nd generation because I think it will be imported to Russia, where I live
P.S. Sorry for my bad English

After a whole year of waiting, I gave up and got myself an LG Viewty, which I'll receive tomorrow. But yeah, if the M8 had 3G on its first release, I would probably get it instead.

Why not, DusL has help out around here, and he's stuck around, even though he has an Apple product. He should be commemorated.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'll buy the first gen M8 as soon as I can. In my opinion 3g is unnecessary. Unfortunately the 3g network in Hungary is too weak: if too many users connect to it from one specific area, the provider will turn down the speed of the downloading of several users! Sometimes they do it for days! (And the other thing is the price: very expensive, I'd rather not to say about that anything)

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMost likely, I will eventually get it. But I live and travel in an area that is CDMA dominant, so I wouldn't be able to use it as a phone reliably, even going with a new phone company that does have GSM. The company I currently have finally has the Samsung Delve as a touch phone--about 6 weeks ago, used to have the LG UX830, now it has the LG UX585 -- for touch phones, and the usual blah CDMA for the other phones.
Is what it is.
As for the music and video features, way cool. Looking forward to seeing how the M8 progresses, and all the third party software that can be used on it.
