Feeling of superiority?
Don't you feel a tad superior when you flaunt your M6 around? Two things have happened recently to augment this feeling of superiority:
I was on a plane. I got upgraded to first class (the first time in about 4 months). I got the window (cool). So this guy sits beside me, normal looking, a bit old. Once we take off he gets his Bose noise cancelling headphones and his black iPod nano. He puts it on the space between the seat. I do the same with my M6, only that my noise cancelling 'phones are generic. I caught him staring at my player a couple of times. I had a cool skin (the Mono skin). Besides his nano, my M6 actually looked better!
Second time: one of my colleagues has one of those red iPods. He started talking about being bored with the music in his iPod and that he wished that he had an FM tuner for his Nano. He, he, he. I just showed him the FM tuner of my Meizu and was floored. He did so twice when I told him about the video capabilities.
Both stories are true, swear. I won't (won't) trade in my M6 for anything in the world at this time. Period.
I probably will hold with my M6 until it croaks. By that time I hope Meizu has upgraded the capabilities of this wonderful player.
Fiat Meizu!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHey! nice stories!
I'm in High School right now, and 90% of everybody that has a music player has some form of an iPod. So during Study Hall one day, I pop out my M6 and start to watch some South Park. The kid right next to me (listening to his iPod) looks at it and says "Hey? What kind of iPod is that?" and I'm all like "No, its not an ipod, its a miniplayer!" And then the kid just like grabs it out of my hand and start to play around and explore it. He liked the fact that it had a touch pad. He REALLY liked it because you can customize it so much.
This has happened just about every time I pull it out around someone who has never seen it. So, yeah, it's teh coolest! I am SUPERIOR!

Where I live, the only thing you can see is iPod...not even chipods... i swear, i've seen a couple of those fat and ugly noname players but not so many.
People here is so brainwashed so basically they think that if some player ain't ipod then is an ipod clone
. The funny thing is that everybody tells me the same stupid question AND happens even with my Teclast players.
Whatever it is... is something different and that makes it special :DInternet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsnow this is what i was talking about when i said we should have a thread for testimonials.
nice stories.
i also get that a lot when i use my miniplayer. my officemates always ask if it's an ipod. the truth is, all of them (those who have mp3 players) have a variation of an ipod, be it a nano, shuffle or video. so i do feel special indeed in our office. :D

I agree with some of the posts here. When you get *that* look, it's very hard to tell people that it's not an iPod. "Don't you dare give my M6 that horrendous name".
I'm actually going to see if I can get mine engraved with my name. If I can do that, then that'll truly make it personal!

Someone at work who saw mine said 'what does that toy do?'
I was happy to ask him what his iPod 'toy' did - seems ipod'ers don't like their baby being called a toy either!
Anyway, he said it played mp3's and was brilliant.
So slightly smugly (okay, totally smugly) I told him what mine did, and said it wasn't limited to DRM music either.
He looked rather uncomfortable and asked how much it cost.....
.... he looked a lot more unhappy after I told him

Guys, it's just a Music player. It's a nice thing, but don't confuse yourself - it does not make you any better than anyone else.
The worth of a man is not judged by his clothes, car, or house, but by his actions.
Good choice on the player, though.I'm out

WRONG! that hypothesis might have worked on some other, not so great fansite of, lets say clothes, but here, we discuss Meizu (and mostly m6)...
...
And... what i wanted to say is the following;
If thou own one, thou art a god amongst men!
thats a plain fact....i mean, its like the holy grail of PMPs... and everyone you`ll ever meet, knows it too...
nah, but seriously, its ok to feel superior when you own a beauty as the M6...
have a good one m8...

It's not necessarily a feeling of superiority, but every time someone takes out their iPod, I just get a warm feeling thinking that I probably paid less... for more.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

02-08-2007 #13Well put Err0r, exactly right. And when you hear about the fun & games people have using itunes...dear, oh dear. Some friends have had to buy software to enable them to drag & drop files onto their ipods as itunes wouldn't allow any files to be transfered. The advice from Apple was to re-install Windoz and start again-just the sort of thing you want to hear from customer support...notIt's not necessarily a feeling of superiority, but every time someone takes out their iPod, I just get a warm feeling thinking that I probably paid less... for more.

Exactly Carter. I know that I can use my M6 in any kit, in any OS without restriction.
Yes, it's just a music player. But what a player!

What can I say. A superior player results in a superior owner. A fact of nature.
People stare at your player and think: "Hey, my iPod is better mwahaha". They ask you what piece of shit of a player you bought and you tell this person what your nice little miniplayer is able to do.
And they'll be really uncomfortable

I just laugh when people go out and buy add on accessories for the iPod which come built in the M6 (Voice Recording, FM tuner). It's also funny when they start talking about how iTunes screwed their music up, etc. I just tell them that I can use anything (even good ol' 'My Computer') to transfer my music.
And let's not talk about skinning the M6. Album art, schmalbum art. :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI live in Australia and I catch the train to school.
Once I was watching the simpsons on the train on my M6, and 2 younsters were peeking at my M6 from behind, so i held my M6 lower so they couldnt see. They nearly stood up to see my M6!
At our school, its basically a battle between 3 DAP players currently. Ipods, Meizu M6, and IRiver Clix.
The Ipod is definitely the last contestant within the 3 DAPs above. The clix is good in its interface, but M6 is heaps better with its universal USB port, if you lose your cord you can buy another one easily. (clix cant do that) and the meizu has a larger screen and can apply skins

yeah...like what glacier said...everyone here is a proud of their miniplayers!

well...here's a meizu story...a friend of mine barrowed my Meizu and bought it to his office...he said every person who saw the miniplayer was asking where they could buy it (most of his officemates had ipods)...guess they were willing to make the change.
i think people who bought a miniplayer are those who actually researched and thought about what they were buying.
