I've been waiting M8 for more than 1 years, iphone is excellent, but for some aspects it's not suit for me, now I am only interested in M8, I hope it won't let me down when it's released.I believe Meizu,4 years ago, it was still a small mp3 company, only a few people in China knew Meizu this brand, im one of these a few people, since i bought E2,i'd paid attention to all the products of Meizu, when M6 was released, didn't Meizu give us a big surprise?
Compared to other mp3 companies in China, Meizu's mp3 are not expensive but they are really good both on appearance and sound quality.
Jw is a person goes in for the perfection , he once said, M8 is not only a product, it's also his dream!
anyway,we do not know when it will be released, but we sure that M8 certainly exists, if you were really in need of changing the phone, it will be a suffering.....waiting....
What I use now is a CECT one, do u hear about this brand before?
I like it, but its poor quality really depressed me...

hmm, not sure what what to take form that statement. Nevertheless I don't think Mr Wong is an idiot, he says himself that Meizu are devoting almost all their resources into making the M8 so they are clearly doing all they can to get it out in the quickest time possible without compromising it's quality. When an mp3 player manafacturer has not released a new model for as long as Meizu, when their main domestic market is China, there is definitely going to be a sense of urgency in the Meizu camp to get the M8 finished without a doubt.

On another note, all this talk of 'deception' and 'broken promises' is in many ways I feel is unjustified. Every body knows that Meizu made a mistake announcing the M8 too early and ran into numerous unforseen delays. But what company do you know that informs it's prospective customers and fans weekly about a products development progress? I think we are lucky to even get that. I have seen so many products delayed for just as long as the M8, some even longer.

Your all getting pissed off and saying 'deception' and 'broken promises' blah blah blah, but when did Wong actually promise anything? He may have said a few times they were HOPING to release by a certain date but it was never set in stone. Also In what way is he being deceptive? he has had his cards on the table at all times and informed everyone about the progress and problems and setbacks at every stage of the M8's development.

The only reason anyone is getting pissed off is because your all so eager to get your hands on a device that on paper effectively looks almost too good to be true. I sometimes get the feeling none of you use your common sense when thinking how long the M8 will take.

Do you not understand what Meizu are trying to do? They are effectively making a device that uses very very similar hardware (and shares many software functions) to the iphone (iphone uses the samsung arm S3C6400 processor the precursor to the S3C6410 which Meizu will be using in the M8) and are attempting to make it in less time than it took apple to develop the iphone.

So in other words a multi billion dollar corporation took 2 years to develop a ground breaking phone and Meizu, a small chinese company with extremely limited resources and misiscule r&d budgets (compared to apple) who have only ever made a few models of cheap mp3 players are trying to make something with almost identical hardware and many of the software features of the iphone from scratch in under the time it took Apple to develop the iphone. OF COURSE ITS GOING TO TAKE A BLOODY LONG TIME! If they actually pull this off and deliver at the quoted prices it will basically be an unbelievable feat. Also you cannot talk about them having the iphone to use as a guide for software development as windows ce 6.0 has a totally different platform architecture to OSX.

I suggest you all start using your brains and common sense for a bit instead of waiting for Wong to say something then whining about another delay. It will be out when it is out, if you are no longer interested in the phone there is a simple option > GO BUY SOMETHING ELSE. * rant over*

Hm... what do they mean by alpha version? Like hardware definately final, software not? I think that would be ok, I would take that. I mean I've been using a phone that feels like an alpha version for 3 years now, I am used to incomplete software (though Motorola says it's finished...). As long as the alpha testers may update the phone themselves to the final production version. 90% means 90% discount or 90% of the original price?
