please, PLEASE, read the FAQ first AND search through the Forums BEFORE you make a new thread or post containing your questions/problems. more often than not, the answer/solution is already somewhere in here.
let's not let the FAQ that Error and Marcelo made go to waste. i hate to say this, but reading the same questions over and over again does get a bit annoying over time. the community is happy to help you with anything, but not if the answer can easily be found in the FAQ and forums already.
i'm not trying to be mean or anything, ok.
just try to do a bit of research first before asking your questions. hope everyone will enjoy their stay in the MeizuMe community.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi, this is my first post!
I took note of glacier's comments about reading the FAQ'S first, but unfortunately, the answer to my query didn't work!
After my M6(sp) stopped working suddenly, I used your forums to update the firmware successfully, but ended up with a Chinese version as opposed to my original English version.
I followed the forum instructions to change the language but to no avail.
Here is the sequence I used:
Pressed M button, selected 2nd from last option (Chinese), selected 7th option (Chinese), leaving me with a chioce of 11 (Chinese) selections. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!

press "M" then go down and select the first entry with ">" from bottom up, in the next menu window same procedure again! now you should be in the language selection menu

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsHi MIKEG, welcome to meizume!
Try this! The Language defaulted to Chinese after the update, to reset enter Menu and scroll 10 down for Settings, then 7 down for Language.
I don't know what's the big deal finding the English setting by yourself though... If you look through all the menus somewhere you should see "English"... It's not so hard to find it.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThank you Colt and nice2know u for your replies, - I followed both of your suggestions but neither left me with an English verson! If you read my post, I had done exactly as you have described but there is no place I can find the word "English" in the menu system. I can find the file names (songs, pictures etc.) written in English if I mess around with the Chinese menus, but I still have Chinese writing somewhere on the screen. Before I updated, there was no Chinese writing anywhere on the player. Has anyone got a screen shot after the two procedures so I can compare it with the screen I have? Maybe something has gone wrong during my update, I can't see why such a simple procedure isn't working for me.
I appreciate any more suggestions,
MIKEG.

it all depends on the firmware you are using. if u are using 2.004.1 to 2.004.6 then the settings is as follows:
1. From the main menu, scroll down to the 3rd to last (including the last) and enter.
2. Then at the next screen, scroll down to 5th to last (including the last), then enter it, then u should see English.
3. Select it.
Hope this helpsR.W.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYES! roryrudy, you are a star! I can now set up my M6 in English. I was beginning to think I was too thick to follow basic instructions, but I now see I was given the wrong directions. Maybe you could post your alternative route to the English menu alongside the other directions in this forum. I owe you a drink my man!
All the best,
MIKEG.

I know this may be off topic, but how the heck do people manage to get their spambots through the validation system? (It's a problem at my forum as well)
