Hi everyone!

I have bad news. I feel really upset saying this but I don't do it for fun - trust me. The work to get all the question for this interview took quite some of my free time. Today my cameraman decided not to go to CeBIT because he is too busy at uni. This was really a bad timing because he has a special membership at the "Deutsche Bahn" (German Railways) and was the source for my train-tickets. Now that he's not going I have to pay for the tickets myself and it's about crazy 180 Euros... Money that I currently can't afford. So I was thinking all noon about what to do when I got the news that Meizu had problems with the police. At this point I decided to cancel my trip because of too many unstable factors.

I'm sorry! If someone wants to go and do the interview (please feel free to use my list) I will give him (or her) 2 trade visitor tickets worth 78 Euros fore free (just shipping). It would be nice if, should someone do that, he or she mentions my nick to contribute to the work. Thank you!

CeBIT is getting close and this year will be a big one for MEIZU. We all have some questions that finally need to be answered and the show will be a great chance to do just that.

I will be in Hannover and do the video coverage for Meizu Me. Part of that will hopefully be an interview that I have now started to prepare. This thread is supposed to get the interview organized and evaluate which questions are the most important and interesting for our community.

Something to note before posting: I'll be at the show between the 8th and 9th of March so a lot of facts (especially about the M8) will already be published by other sources. Maybe you want to know about something that hasn't been covered already or ask about the future of your device (M3 and M6), etc...

Constructive ideas are always welcome!

M8 miniOne:

When will M9 be released?
What was the reason not to include 3G in the initial release of M8?
(When) Can we expect a 3G version of the phone?
Will MEIZU advise customers to use screen protectors?
What will the sound quality be like compared to M6?
Will there be support for A2DP? (If yes: How long will battery last using it?)
Will the M8 be an AVRCP-TG device? (controllable by a BT headset; includes track selection)
Will it support platforms like e.g. Java and Flash?
Will it be officially distributed in (England) Europe; (Canada) North America; ...? (If yes: When? / What price?)
How does the web browser work? (iPhone comparison)
What are the final prices for each model?
What will be the max. resolution for TV-out?
Will it have USB OTG (On-The-Go) support or (and) a card slot?
Does the camera offer a video mode? (If yes: What resolution, framerate, codec?)
Will it have voice dial?
What will the battery time be? (standby; music; video; web)
What accessories will be included with the phone?
How do the GPS and DVB features work?
Will the phone be sold unlocked?
Is there a FM radio feature?
Does it offer Dual-SIM support? (If not: Will that be included in later versions?)
What audio- and video-codecs will be supported? (Video: At full resolution?)
Will there be subtitles support for video playback?
Is there support for BT printing?
What about 3rd party apps? (user: install feature / developer: SDK)
What about the sound quality of the phone? (background noise)
Which CPU will be used? (S3C6400 [iPhone] or S3C6410)

Is the headphone port going to be 3.5 mm?
Any chance of seeing a release with beta FW to speed things up?

Any chance for an alternative OS (e.g. Android)?
What about SRS (Sound Retrieval System) or MS PlayFX for virtual surround?

M6 miniPlayer:

Will there be a future FW update to fix the most annoying problems? (stuttering, file limit [2048], artist limit [128], 3 min. auto-off)
Does MEIZU read about the problems concerning the current FW version in forums?
How long will MEIZU offer support for M3 and M6?
What's the possibility of releasing the M3 / M6 FW as open source to fans?
Would MEIZU support the port of 3rd party FWs (e.g. Rockbox) for M3 / M6?

M7:

Is it in development? (If yes: Any info about specs or possible release date?)

I can think up of some:

- When does the M9 come?
(laughing my ass of while making up this question :D)

- When can we expect a 3G version of the M8, also, why the hell isn't it included in the initial release??

- Do I need to buy a utterly good screen protector for "my" M8?
(I'd really like them to give their comments on that)

J. Wong said in one of his posts that the glass protecting the screen is very hard, so let's hope it won't scratch easily

-Will there be the same (or even better) sound quality as we know from the M6?
-Will there be Stereo bluetooth (A2DP)?
-What is the predicted music playback time (using A2DP)?
-Will the M8 be a device including AVRCP-TG (Audio Video Remote Control Profile Target) (so I can control the M8 via my stereo bluetooth headset)?

Is there gonna be another firmware update that fixes the current bugs in m6 (if none doesnt release by that time) or they are finish with us?

Do the meizu team check meizume and see the problems posted here and all those signature shit u guys have signing? LOL

*haha* Good questions though. I would like to know about M6's future support too.

Keep your ideas coming (M8 is fine too - I will keep an eye on the coverage and cancel all questions that have already been answered properly during the first days of CeBIT. Tomorrow I'll update the thread with a compiled list of first questions that we will later decide about.

I'll add 3 of mine also:

1.
How long does Meizu plan on supporting the current M6/M3 devices, considering the move into convergence devices such as the M8 MiniOne?

2.
Some (many?) fans would like to see the M6/M3 firmware (or at least the parts of it which can be legally released) become open source. What is Meizu's view on this? Will it be possible at least at some point in the future, if/when Meizu stops supporting these devices?

3.
What is Meizu's view regarding third-party firmware software, such as the Rockbox project? Would Meizu support a port of such project for the M6/M3 (by authorising it, releasing detailed specs/info, etc.) ?

I have a good one: What accessories will it come bundled? Headset / earphones? Replacement battery? Pouch? Also how will GPS and DVB work?
Also: Will it sell unlocked? Because their CeBIT profile says:
"We cordially welcome valued mobile operators,retail chains and distributors
to visit our booth at CeBIT 2008 for a meeting and discussion about M8."

I have a request for a feature for the next m6 firmware: will it be possible in the future to change the music playback speed, i would really like that feauture, and there are a lot of people that would like it from what i've heard...

I read 'somewhere' that the M8 is going to include an FM radio - if u can add this to the questions that'll be great.

Sorry! I won't take any requests except the much anticipated FW update needed to fix some bugs. This will be about asking them what's up next rather then telling them what to do.

Thread update will be coming soon... Sorry for possible delays but I really have a lot of work lately.

I am also very interested to know this, if there is support for mp4, divx, wmv and at full resolution (and with subtitles)...
if there is 16 GB, or hopefully even 32 or 64 GB available by the time it comes out i would like all my movies in full resolution...

I do not like to put movies on my m6 where i have to re-convert everything
