How do u pronounce Meizu...?

so there i wuz showin off my m6 to my friends....and i said "hey guys check out my "meezu" m6...isnt it sweet?"....obviously they were fascinated by it... and then one of them says..."yo, i think its pronounced "mayzu"...so then we got into an argument (which lasted all but 5 mins) abt how its pronounced and well...didnt come up with an answer....and now am here askin u guys wat it is..?

In the sample video that comes with the player they pronounce it mayzoo.

E is 'eh' and I is 'ee' so it's mayzoo

It depends, the Chinese pronounce it May-Zoo but Americans pronounce it Mee-Zoo.

4th tone on may and 2nd tone on zoo. If you wanna be full chinese that is.

well thnx for the replies guys...so its mayzoo huh..? i dunno...meezu just sounds better...o well it is what it is....

meezu makes it sound like mizu, another brand...

I’m a Chinese.In fact it pronounced mostly like "Mayzu" in Chinese.
But "meezu" is just ok if you like!:D

I've said it Mayzu and Meezu. When I went to the store to ask for a Meizu I prononuced it Meezu and the person I was asking didn't know what I was talking about:D

It doesn't matter how you pronouce it. Any non-asian will pronounce it wrong.
Even if you say Meizu CEO's name "Jack Wong", the "wong" part is pronounced wrong. In Chinese it is pronouced more like "Waaang".

The English fricative [z] is a little too soft; it's closer to "May-dzoo" with that slight stop before the z sound.

Not exactly true...first, if you're speaking Mandarin/Putonghua it's not a drawn out "aaa"; more like "Wahng"...the "ah" sounds like what the doctor tells you to do, but short, as most North Americans would pronounce the vowel in "hot".

Second, Meizu is located in Zhuhai, Guangdong province. The local language is Cantonese and his last name would be pronounced closer to "Wong" than "Wang". He is using the common Cantonese romanization of that surname...like the diva Faye Wong whose Mandarin name is Wang Fei. Or the filmmaker Wong Kar Wai = Wang Jiawei. Or the actress (Joey) Wong Cho Yin = Wang Zuxian.
