The new Meizu M5 Wēi
Hi all,
Well, I was bored, and that's the result :>
We already have M6, wich can be compared to iPod Nano video, Meizu M3 that looks like an second generation Nano and finally the upcoming M7, that's an alternative to iPod Touch. However, there was no alternative for Shuffle!
Until now.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new Meizu M5 Wēi!

It's really tiny: 35x40x8 mm (x/y/z), has 1.2" 128x128 65k color display, 500 mAh battery that offers about 18 hrs of play, FM tuner and voice recording. Supports same audio formats as the M6, like mp3, flac or ogg. Does not play videos, but has a photo browser. Comes in 1, 2 and 4 GB capacities.
It has five buttons on the front panel: prev, play/pause/power, next, Meizu and enter, and a volume +/- on the right side (like these in, say, SE K750) the 3,5 mm jack and strap bore are located on top of the device, and the USB is located on the down. The back side is reflective, like in M6.
Any suggestions?
Oh, and yeah, I know there's no hold switch, maybe I will add it next to the USB.
More photos coming soon!
Cheers

Really ugly IMHO, I usually like the meizu-players but...

Any thing to improve it? Or is everything crap?

Oh, sorry, thought it was a new player coming out ^^
I'm simply not really into that rounded shape... I like players with simple designs...

I really think Meizu should release a low-end MP3 player. But it shouldn't look like this, this isn't Meizu style.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

@Err0r: Meizu style.. Hm, I know it looks completely different than the M3 or M6, and the only meizu-style thing is the logo (it could be any brand except Apple IMHO), but when I make it rectangular it looks even worse and unoriginal. I have no idea how to make it look more Meizu (mainly because the touchpad will render the device unusable - look on the hand size comparison photo), but still keeping it original (and low-cost, 'cause that's the main thing about it).

There is no choices...
all have been patented and copyrighted by Apple

Apple dominates 90% of the MP3 Market you know...

looks alot like retractable tape measure and would be rather stylist accessory if you were in construction but i'm not too fond of the design. Good effort though!! i'm nowhere as good in design or photoshop.
what's the market demand for such lowend players like the shuffle, usb sticks, and cubes nowadays? Pending the recent sandisk lawsuit, flash storage devices have been dropping in prices, increasing in storage size, have decreasing in form factor, and more features than the 1gb players.

I'll give you a revolutionary idea... but you must put my name in the patent... put key on the back of the case... with sort of braille signals to know what to press... a signal in the screen will show what are you touching before it's pressed.

Hey that's a great idea! I'm redesigning it now, stay tuned for more details ;] Looks like it will be more Meizu than the first one.

Looks nice, but too M6-ish, while I'm trying to make something light, tiny and low-cost.
however, if you want, I can make it in 3D too.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts"iPhone? Well, due to Meizu prolonging the release of M8 further and further and cutting it's specs more and more, I just found myself buying that over-hyped, over-prized piece of yesterday's technology. In fact, it's pretty cool - even with the half-eaten fruit on it..."
