Comparison between M6 SL and Cowon D2
I'm a fan of both Meizu and Cowon.
I opted for Meizu's new M6 SL because it was in my price range and people say the audio is rated one of the best, and as importantly does all the music formats i want ( Flac, Ogg, Wav, Ape, Mp3, Wma )
Cowon is equally good and supports as wide a music format, and also has great audio !
So just want to know how would you rate the D2 against the M6 SL just curious .....
As far as i know the Trekstor Vibez supposedly is the best sounding DAP, so i want to know just where these other 2 fit in the rankings :]

M6 SL is a lot cheaper than Cowon D2, and more worth than the D2 I think.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm not happy with my M6 (non-SL, sure!).
It has some ugly firmware bugs which were not fixed in any new firmware which was released yet. I wouldn't buy it again.

I would like to have a Archos with a screen of 7" and lot of other wonderful goodies... but it cost about US$ 750.-
I would like to have a Lamborghini too... compared with my actual Peugeot... I think that the Lambo is better... UUFFFF
Is it reasonable to do this so damn silly comparison!!!???
Probably COWON and Apple by its prices will make its owners to think that indeed are better than any other brand...
That's pure S***T!!!

*Stares at Daremos

If you don't compare how do you know which is better mr smarty pants :] ? Some of us want to know whether it's worth dishing out a few more bucks for another player or not. There is nothing wrong speculating which would be the better choice. Is it such a crime to ask more experienced users what they think would be better value ? Not everyone here is a guru like you ...ok.... Give us ignorant people a break.
Theres no need to belittle others over nothing to fuel your ego k thx gbye

On the contrary, COWON *is* actually better than most brands out there. It should be no surprise that iaudio and iriver are both excellent manufacturers of mp3 players and in terms of mp3 player brands, I think they would be within the top 5.
@OP, I have not heard the Meizu M6 SL before, but if you can gather some opinions on the noisefloor levels of the SL then that would help guide your purchase greatly. Having owned several iAudio players in my time, I can safely say that iAudio hold the record as an mp3 player having the better sound quality.
iAudio's audio decoder also seems to be more mature than the decoder in the Meizu M6, as there are relatively little problems reported in the official iaudio forums. You are paying more, but its a good safeguard against buyers remorse =P
Not that Meizu makes bad mp3 players or anything, if you have a good source (properly encoded audio files), a good set of phones' then meizu's offerings provide nice enjoyable warm sounding music, which is the characteristic of the audio chip meizu use in their players (M6 series). The only flaw i ever saw was the high amount of background noise or hiss, although most cases of hissing seem to be predominant on the TP series of the M6.Last edited by Blackstar; 09-30-2007 at 07:17 AM.
Current Rigs:

4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsStutter Problem, song length jumping with some VBR-MP3's are only a few that aren't fixed and very annoying AND not cool if you're thinking about, that this is a multimediaplayer exactly for listening to music! It really fucked me up! The M6 is a nice designed and cool player but thinking about this issues I would NOT buy it again!

Don't say that, The bugs are being worked out. The M6 has only been out in the U.S. market for about a year now and there are still kinks to be worked out. The iPod has had 5 years of refinement so give it some time. Have you downloaded the new test firmware? The bugs you have mentioned are worked out in that firmware upgrade found on the homepage.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer
