If you have the OEM SP version, there is a comprehensive step by step guide in the User Manual. If you're still having problems, give us an email at customersupport@cd2u.net and we will help with any specific issue you have.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsok i've read the manual and it's really helpfull. however it tells me how to upgrade the firmware but i want to backup it
how can i do this? (there is no resource.bin file on the player right now so i guess i can't???) and then i would like to edit the backup file to create my own skin. and if something goes wrong i can still use the original backup to restore the system.
hope you get what i mean

You can find resource.bin and M6.EBN here or in Meizu site.
This files once installed disappear from the device... with Meizu firmware there is no need to extract them as they are free available to anybody. If you keep them in your PC hdd you're done.
Concerning skins you just need to download "M6 & M3 Resource Editor 1.22" in the same places to start changing resource, bin file.
When you want you can copy it, just resource.bin, to root directory of your device and it will be automatically applied next time you start the device.

I think there is no way to backup. But many people here use the firmware from this site (including me) without any problems.

I ask about it so much because I don't want to lose the warranty.

You will not lose your Music, but you will lose the skin. Yes, you have to use the Sx.xxx.x version of the firmware. You will not lose your warranty.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.

In most firmware only 3 or 4 of the available languages are enabled you can not access the rest however I think that the Emgeton M6 Cult version of the firmware includes the Polish Language.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyeah i tried that, it has a lot of typos! emgeton sucks...
anyway, i've copied resource.bin from the official firmware and M6.EBN from emgeton which has languages. and thanks to that i got original meizu software and lets say a good translation. but still i had an official firmware! it had only english and polish. so i think there is another fw out there :P
the player seems ok now, however i'd like meizu to unlock the languages in the official release (why the hell there are only 3 languages?? i've see MUCH more in the resrouce.bin file - thanks to resource editor).
how can i contact meizu about this?aliens ain't farmers!

09-12-2007 #13Pointless, Meizu only provide alternate language versions for their licensed resellers like Emgerton and DanElec if they are no good to you then use the resource editor to manually edit one of the active languages.how can i contact meizu about this?

too bad i didn't do any back up :/ (i dont even know if thats possible)
anyway my meizu is just fine now, although the new default background is sooo bad, cant read ebook with it (hopefully i can setup my own)aliens ain't farmers!

Was it a good translation to Polish?
If not... you better forget translation to your language... it's better to use it all the time in English... less troubles

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsRight now (without the resource.bin from egmeton, only M6.EBN) it's really ok, kind of the same as it was back then when i had older firmware.
There's absolutely no problem in using the english language in it for me, but the thing is i live in Poland, why should i have it in english right?

sometime translation are so annoying that is preferable to have a neutral language... English it is
-
09-15-2007 #18
well how do you translate it? maybe you could re-write the polish version

I prefer english over my languages (swedish and russian) :P

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt's not a matter of rewriting it, only fixing few mistakes, in few parts (EQ settings) the language is mixed with German.
But that's it. And if you copy only the M6.EBN from the Emgeton I think the language is loaded from the original meizu resource.bin - the original translation is nearly perfect. Emgeton is sooo bad, it mixes Czech, Russian with Polish. Makes no sense.
But hey I can't do anything cause my Meizu died :D (waiting for new) lolaliens ain't farmers!
