As most have said it, J.Wong was "inspired" by the iPhone, not because he was lazy and took the design of the iPhone for the creation of MiniOne...
BTW in response to "that phone looks like a Nokia", that photo was awhile ago.Meizu M8 MiniOne

however... the whole LCD-CRT discussion is getting old
top of the line, new LCD monitors are just as good if not better than CRT...
old LCDs are worse than CRT...true...
