New member questions
I had pretty much decided to buy a clix when I read a little about the miniplayer and am now deciding between the two.
I have a few quick questions. One is whether all versions and sizes of the miniplayer play flac. I'm considering the 2gb or possibly 4. The flac is what draws me to this player.
Is it UMS?
Also it looks like it's available at Walgreens and House of Dap. I know nothing about House of Dap. Is that a store that others have bought from? The miniplayer info site appears to only have the 4gb for sale and not the smaller ones.
Thanks very much for help.

Thanks. I'm still deciding between the clic and this. If I get it I'll go through house of dap. It looks like the walgreens player has the more limited software.

the one offered by wallgreens has no restrictions on software, but we're still not sure about firmware upgrades for Dane-Elec players.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi everyone! I am the owner of a M6 4GB SP Meizu MiniPlayer, and I hoped to make use of the latest software updates and tools for my player. When I purchased my player, it came with an installation CD that the User's Manual said was supposed to contain VirtualDub, but the only video software I could find was Video Converter. Did I get the wrong type of installation disk with my player? If not, why did it not come with instructions on how to use it?
Anyway, by trial and error, I was able to use Video Converter to put two small 1 minute videos in my player "as is", but I still lacked instructions on how to use the Video Converter, especially when I wanted to include english subtitles or english dub track that I have on some of the next video files I want to put on my player.
I thought maybe I did not have the latest software, updates, or tools for my player, so I downloaded the following:
Firmware Update FW-S2003_2 (Currently installed in my player),
BatMan (Currently on my computer desktop),
Firmware Update M6_S2004.3_Meizu_En.rar (Currently on my computer desktop, but not installed on the player).
The FW-S2003_2 firmware seems to perform well on my player, it isn't the latest update for my player, and I don't think it completely addresses my video concerns. I attempted to use Batman, but I did not have instructions on how to use it. I looked in the forum for info on how to use Batman, but the info seemed confusing to me, especially on how I hoped to use it. As far as the firmware M6_S2004.3_Meizu_En.rar is concerned, it seems that I need to install WinRar before I could use it (and I'm not sure if I want to do that now, especially if there may be a better option out there that doesn't require adding software on top of software). Is there any way I could get clear information on how to properly update my player, and on what software options would best meet my concern to put video files on my player complete with an english subtitle or an english audio track? Will I have to install multiple software programs in order to use the best software option for my video needs? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide in this matter.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsWow, such a long post... I'll answer much shortly:
1. Use the latest firmware (2.004.5) - You can download it from the Firmware section.
2. FAQ covers the firmware-updating method.
3. As far as video converter goes, I recommend using Batman. It's simple to use, just read the user-manual, and there's a help topic too.
4. If you still can't figure it out, read the manual again. This is one of the simplest program you can find for converting videos.
5. If none of the above helps, feel free to visit us on IRC

Thank you very much for that info (sorry about the long post)! I have a follow up question - will I have to download WinRar to use the firmware update you recommended?

O.K. - Thanks for confirming the WinRar part. I do have just one more question - where do I find the "manual" for BatMan?

I am really surprised how often people tell that they don't understand the basic usage of BatMan, when there is this really easy to understand screenshot right before their eyes.
The internal help can be invoked by entering "?".BatMan, the free video converter for Meizu players. Problems ? English First Aid here. Deutsche Erste Hilfe hier.

You know, because you didn't notice BobbyQ's signature above your post. Try BatMan, it's worked better than Meizu's utility in my experience.
