    Meizu Wishlist

Hi guys, sorry if there is a Mizu wishlist sticky somewhere, I couldn't find it.

I've been lurking in the shadows here for a while, but now I decided to use my first post to open up a wishlist thread. I'm so close to buying a Meizu, yet there a couple of features that I'd really enjoy.

As Meizu own this place, hopefully all suggestions will be noted by Meizu, and who knows, features that you want could inspire Meizu to further improve their product in future incarnations.

So with all that aside, here are my wishlists for a future player / players.

    1: Higher Capacity

A bit of an obvious one, but it would be nice for Meizu to put out a player that challenges the +20g Ipods

    2: Wireless / FM transmitter

Some form of wireless would be good and (or / as well as) a built in FM transmitter that would allow you to play your Meizu over radios, be it your car or nearby radios. (much like the third party ipod ones)

3: Line out / Record Line in

I used to have a minidisc that had a headphone jack that doubled up as a line out. All you had to do was change a setting, then you could output at line level to speakers / amp

It would also be nice to record on the fly.

So there are a couple of wishlist 'wishes'

Sorry if I have noted features that already exist, feel free to add your wishes thoughts, and who knows, Mr Meizu could be watching.

    Cheers

I would be cool if meizu made a m6 style camera. Also I would be cool if they made a player the size of a video ipod, like a bigger m6, with a nice big screen and hard drive.

um... it's a bit early to get 20+GB due to cost.... the ipods of that size are hard drive based, not flash based. FM transmitter will never happen due to power requirements. line out is a good suggestion.

It would be awesome if meizu added line out for their players.

first of all, this site is owned by error and not by meizu.

secondly, i think meizu is concentrating on flash based players right now. so a hard-drive player (it would need to have a hard-drive to reach the 20+ gb you want) will probably not be in the picture for a long time.

as for wishlist... only one that i've been wanting since i got my m6. USER DEFINABLE AUTO SHUT-DOWN TIMER. :D

ah fair enough, I though I saw on the news a while back that Meizu had acquired this site, I must have misunderstood or misread or something.

Yeah, line out would be sweet. I also understand what you are saying about storage, I guess I'm just bummed there isn't a decent alternative (that I can see) at ipod +20 sizes. I reckon if meizu did, they would destroy. But hey, thats what wishlists are for.

And as for fm transmitter, I was just thinking it'd be cool from the point of convenience. Just enter a menu, turn it on. Bang. I guess I haven't taken into account the size of chips / circuitry and power needed. hmm

    Cheers guys, keep em coming.

well, I'll carry on, even if the thread has kind off died.

    *Normaliser

It would be good to turn on a sound normaliser so that tracks that have different noise levels are all played at a similar volume. Thus, when shuffling, you wont get suprised by a really loud track that follows a song with lower levels and have to reach for the volume. It should also work the other way, boosting quiter tracks to a preselected db.

Once again, apologies if this function aready exists.

    Cheers

this may sound like a n00b question but what exactly is a line out? I always thought thats what the headphone jacks were, but I guess not.

umm, its something like this I think:

Headphone socket: volume is still dictated by the MP3 player, so if you plug your MP3 into a stereo, then you can control the volume on the amp, and the MP3 player.

Not great because if your MP3 player volume is set low, and you turn you amp up, then you will hear distortion, because all the amp is doing is boosting a low volume.

Line out: volume is maxxed out on the MP3 player (I think?) so that volume is only controlled by the amp.

    Feel free to correct me

oh, well I don't think I want a line out that much, it sounds fine when I hook it up to my system with just the headphone jack

Im not really quite sure about adding camera's to MP3 players. Every cell phone already has a camera and that would just be adding unnecessary things to it. They should just focus on making it the best mp3 player possible.

A line out bypasses the players sound hardware.

aah, thanks for the clarification, I thought it was something like that. Do the current players have this? If not, I think it is something they should definately have.
