Any ideas to recover a dead M6

I have a TP version player, it was sent with firmware T1.009 and I did not bother upgrading it to T1.010 as soon as that came out.

It worked fine for about a week, then I connected it to my computer, as usual, to recharge and it was fine for about 30 mins or so, I then left the room and let my M6 charge up. When I came back in about 2 hours the player was displaying a white screen and failed to respond to anything I did to it.

My computer does not recognize it.

I have tried a few different solutions that people posted here:
connecting it up to my computer while pressing down both the menu and power buttons
and
discharging the battery and trying the above again.
None of these solutions seemed to work as my computer didn't even seem to realize that there was something attached to the USB port.

If anyone has any ideas on what I should try and is willing to share them that would be awesome.

Thanks.

I've tried a reset (held down enter key for about 30 secs just in case) and a hard reset (power and >> key down for 30 sec) as well as a memory reset (power and << key for 30secs) as per the FAQ page but neither one worked it seems as my computer still does not recognize that anything at all is connected thus using the DFU tool isn't working.

Any other ideas, is there something I can do to force my computer to recognize that there is something there?

Make sure that you drain the battery first and then try DFU. I found this out the hard way

Maybe is a stupid idea, but, why don't you try to reinstall old firmware (T1009) again?

did that as soon as I figured out it was dead and read some posts which had ideas about recovery

it actually is still on T1.009, I never upgraded it to 1.010
If I could get my computer to recognize it somehow I would have formated and reinstalled the firmware; however, I can't get it recognized no mater what I try.

I guess I'll have to send it back for a replacement

well I am getting a white screen when I press play, but nothing else, no sound when using the touchpad or clicking the touchpad buttons, nothing at all.

Just the constant white screen when pressing or holding down play.

My solution

I had the exactly the same problem (the only thing that showed up was the whit e flash - no sound, no connection to the PC) a few days ago (and believe me: i was really scared). It happened after I accidentely installed a broken firmware. This is how i solved it:

I went here: http://www.meizume.com/index.php?page=faq and did what it says under "Recover Your Player Using DFU Tools:".

It didn't work, because DFU Tools was kinda broken, so I had to reinstall it. After this DFU Tools didnt find my miniPlayer. So I installed DFU Tools on my brother's PC and did the steps again.

Glad you could fix it. Last time it happened to me I had to claim warranty.

The problem was that i deleted the firmware and recovered it with an UnDelete Program, but it was broken afterwards, as I found out later. So the firmware was mostly complete.
