Meizu Miniplayer 2?
I don't know if this has been posted here before...sorry if it has been...just saw this over at dapreview...thought you guys would appreciate it.

...it's just a concept i think...don't know if from meizu or from a miniplayer fan...but the idea is really cool...the screen slides to reveal the navigation buttons...that'd be a really nifty feature. :DLast edited by boostr29; 12-05-2006 at 02:08 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyup, this has been posted in the prior forum. but of course, all the threads from that forum was lost so this post of yours is appreciated.

it would be cool to have the sliding design, no? sorta like a slider phone, only this is a miniplayer. :D

The touchpad design looks similar to the one of the Philipps HDD 6320

In my opinion the idea of a sliding screen is just perfect. Awesome design!Last edited by puffel; 12-05-2006 at 09:44 PM.

I have to agree, and if the player had like 20h battery life in video mode, 25fps support, a screen like the one in the fan art with no remanence and could slide so that you could hide the touchpad while watching a movie... pigs would fly all over the place :D
Beautiful design

yeah...it'd be really sweet to turn this concept into reality...
now...if only companies would invest on a decent design like that...the idea is out there...but nobody's makin it...i wonder why.

It looks nice but it would soon become a pain in the ass to have to slide the control panel out every time you wanted to change something. No thanks.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postshmm.. you have a point there. i do have a tendency of pressing the forward button if i don't feel like listening to a particular song that comes up. and that happens a lot. :D
possible alternative, maybe put the controls on the sides of the player? or copy the clix controls. lol.
(this is in tagalog. sorry to other community members. :D)
musta boostr? yup, pinay po ako, although manila girl ako simula pagkabata. hehe.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postswell, if you were really picky maybe you could just leave it in 'open' position all the time but that would be annoying too!

Hmm I love the look of the concept player, but don't like the sliding design - just more movable parts to go wrong, and movable parts mean a larger player. Gimme a smaller player with no sliding screen that looks like that!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI do agree with you. The first design is really nice. Although I am hoping that Windows CE is not implemented. After all this is meant to be a MP3/MP4 player and not a mobile PC!

I currently use an SPV-C600 phone, which i used for mp3 and video before getting the M6.
The phone is Windows Mobile and the advantage here is that a wide range of different developers can produce software to make your player more flexible. The phone plays video/music/games etc just like the M6. Also the joystick control is very rugged. (I have a friend who has been using his for 2 years on a daily basis with no problems). So I have no problems if they implement a Windows solution.
I love the designs on your link gabriel2828, I like the first one best also.

I don't like that nipple control. Why would they get rid of the touch strip? For me it works perfectly.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI quite like touch strips too, they work perfectly for me as well!
You can even get computer mouses that have touch strips! (ubergizmo.com)The GUN pointed at the HEAD of the UNIVERSE

The touchpad is certainly a 21st century technology for DAPs, which is useable and stylish. In my opinion these "nipple" controls (a very nice word btw) are outdated.
P.S.: I need more money for such a nice touchstrip mouse *hrhr*

Definitely no slidingunit. The player will indeed be bigger and weaker. Why not use some strip of touch sensitive transparant foil. I saw it once in a flight simulator. The IT-boys used a transparent foil with micro sensors in it. The location of the sensors in a pattern so when you touch it, the software knows where you touched it. This way you can make the control multi-functional AND you can change the background dynamically. And THAT would be really neat. Dynamic controls. This way you don't need a slider and you still got your full-screen capabilities because of the transparant control.
