    Faked 4GB/8GB players?

Surfing around I came to the forums of mympxplayer.org
It seems that there are many faked MP4 players ourdays.

Just one question. Are there also any faked Meizu players?

To: eBay and International Government Agencies For to long now eBay has chosen to turn a blind eye to the fraud that is being committed daily through their on-line auction system. Every day 1000's of FAKE MP3\MP4 players are being sold to unsuspecting buyers worldwide. These players are being listed as having 2GB\4GB and 8GB (Gigabyte) of storage capacity but in reality they have much smaller memory modules that have been manipulated (Hacked) so that they read as larger than their true capacity. These memory modules can be as small as 128MB. Unfortunately most buyers do not realize they have been scammed until it is too late. There have been no reports of authentic cheap no brand 4GB or 8GB chiPods or Nano clones as they are referred to. 2GB is reported as the maximum memory size supported however players as small as 512MB have been found to be tampered with.

As a Hacked players is loaded past its memory modules true capacity the user will experience file corruption problems, player restarts, files that do not appear or can not be deleted and player crashes and resets. Eventually the file system can become so corrupted that the firmware will also become corrupted and the player will cease to function.
If you have bought a player from eBay and have experienced any of these symptoms you need to check your player true memory capacity.
Here are some links to how you can go about this.

Alternately you can open the player and check the memory chip true size using the chip serial number code.
Here is a list of Samsung and Hynix serials and codes:

Is eBay aware of that these fraudsters are using their service to scam millions of dollars on a global scale? The answer is yes, every day they receive complaints from buyers through the eBay system. Every day their sister company PayPal receives dispute claims from buyers of these players seeking a refund. Despite the 1000's of complaints eBay chooses to turn a blind eye to the whole scandal, even blocking buyers from trying to warn other members of the scam. Listings warning buyers of fake Hacked players are removed. Some claims are even denied despite the overwhelming evidence supplied by the buyer and 3rd party sources.

So why is it that eBay does not take steps to protect its members from this outrageous scam, the answer is sadly MONEY. The bottom line is more important. Ebay receives a fee for listing an item, they receive a fee if the item is sold. PayPal receive a fee on every transaction put through their money transfer system and a fee can even be charged if a dispute is filed for a refund. Millions of $$Dollars$$ per year are generated from the sale of these players.

If you have been caught by this scam there is no doubt that the experience has cost you money. It is time that eBay took steps to protect and warn it's members and prevent this criminal activity. Government agencies need to know the extent of the fraud. By supporting this Petition you will help to get the information out and hopefully bring a stop to it once and for all.

    Thankyou

Memory modules that are hacked to read larger than their true size are a huge problem in cheap No-Name Nano clones and mp3\mp4 players as well as flashdrives, media cards etc.

Having said this I have never seen a report on hacked Name Brand players like Meizu, Teclast, etc..

Most of the hacking is done at factory level I doubt you would run into the problem with branded players.

yes , if these players were hacked it would need to be done at the factory level , and the engravment ect would need to be re-done .

    I never heard of a imitation/faked M6

there was one seller who claimed they came in 6 gb with notebook or something

this however seems to be a case of just wrong information and not anything like a hacked player(if they could hack a notebook into it thatwould be cool )

Meizu should really do something against those people selling pseudo "Meizu" players:

This seller is known (ebox.store) to sell hacked faked players
. Those people who checked the player complain about the capacity. Just watch his ratings...
