i got to tell you something
I have to haul off a bit.
I'm german and I work for a company in north germany. Some months back we got an accession to our department. The new co-worker was a chinese woman. I'm getting around pretty good with her. She speaks german fluently. One day I showed her my M9 phone and asked her about the meaning of the meizu symbols on the front. She said these are no chinese alphabet symbols, so she did not know the meaning. I lost the interest of asking her about meizu.
But some weeks ago she told me that she is going back to China to her parents for a holiday trip. She is doing it two or three times a year. I asked her where her parents are living. And she said they live west of Hong Kong. Guess what the name of the city was...Zhuhai! And guess where meizu headquaters is located...Zhuhai! In such a big country like China, how small would be the chance that her parents live in the same city as meizu is located? I really get the feeling how big even the city Zhuhai must be, cause she never saw the big meizu building there. But that is not abnormal she said, cause there is pretty much industry in Zhuhai.MX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsThe population of Zhuhai is just over 1.5 million, and not too many large electronics companies are actually based there. Guangzhou and Shenzhen are more likely candidates. It depends how her parents are working. If they are older and not working full time, they would live in the less intense Zhuhai. Pretty unlikely, all in all.

@n2ku
really? :D
I don't know where they live exactly. But it looks like they are a bit older and live aside the industry.MX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL

Totally normal. Plenty of folks who have no idea what's much beyond their own neighborhood. Also, Zhuhai basically didn't exist before the 1980's, so there aren't going to be many "locals" with a deep knowledge or attachment to the city/area. Ask your co-worker where her family home is and I'd be surprised if the answer were Zhuhai. Might be another part of Guangdong province, or more typically, a different province altogether.

The big meizu building is actually hard to miss! If she takes a bus from Gongbei (Macau border) to Xiangshan/Zhongshan or Guangzhou, the bus will pass it. It is massive!
I am not too surprised though. Chinese people (even more girls) are not known for being careful with directions or noticing things.

It's pretty hard to miss Meizu in any major Chinese city these days. We have 4 stores and our big HQ building in Zhuhai.
She must be uninterested in technology, or her parents might be living in the suburbs.carl(a)meizu.com

I asked her and she really takes the bus the direction Oli mentioned. Looks like she have not noticed the large bulding because she was not interested. But she will next time.
by the way, where is the nearest selling point in the neighborhood of Zhuhai? Cause she will be there in the time of Christmas and near year. If the release of MX will be 01.012012 she might be able to bring one to germany.
Does she should say something to the customs in germany? If she will get picked for custom search and they find a brand new MX, I think she will get in troube, if she has not brought it to attention herself. Any clou?MX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL
