    Big announcement

Some of you might have noticed my absence from Meizu Me over the past weeks. It isn‘t because I've lost interest in Meizu, but rather the contrary. Over the past few months, I have been in discussions with Meizu about the possibility of me joining them. The discussions went well, and since two weeks back, I'm working for Meizu.

As we all know, Meizu started creating mobile phones as late as 2009, starting with the Meizu M8 running WinCE6. Performance was choppy, apps were very limited, and its design was clearly inspired by a certain fruit company. To be honest, the phone wasn't very good. Then, in the beginning of this year, the M9 was made available. The M9 leapfrogged the M8, and was a much better product in every way. It ran Android, had an awesome screen, and the UI was beautiful and smooth. However, the M9 wasn't perfect. Early adopters faced a large amount of bugs and issues, as evidenced by the countless firmware updates that was released by Meizu.

Now, with more than three years of experience creating smartphones, Meizu is about to release the MX. Dubbed the "dream phone," Meizu has confidence in this product, and is finally ready to start stepping out into the world with it. As some of you may know, Meizu is opening a store in Hong Kong this month, as its first step towards internationalization. And this is where I come in. My job at Meizu is to help prepare the company for internationalization beyond Hong Kong.

As I can‘t be a both a fan and an employee, Adam (nice2know_u) will run Meizu Me from now on. A big part of internationalizing Meizu will be to see that the needs of our international users are met, and what better place to interact with them than on Meizu Me? Therefore, I'll still be around, on my new account Carl as an official Meizu employee.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!
