We talk alot on here about the players, the tech, our mutual disregard for fruit branded products and the sheep that buy them and the faults that occasionaly occur.
Has anyone remembered what the player does though? It brings the joy of music to every available opportunity. Stealing moments to listen to what you love. So what is it? when you charged the battery up on your player, and pluged it into your computer, what did you put on first?
My first (and most essential) 5;
1. Radio 1 live lounge album
2. Fatboy slims Greatest hits
3. Wolfmother (Got to love "The Mother")
4. Razorlight (the first self entitled album)
5. Richard Cheese & Lounge against the machine - Tuxicity

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMy curiosity is tickled...
When you say Asian, do you mean mostly Chinese, or is Japanese and Korean included? And then, what kind of Asian music? Although Asian music (like all other regions, perhaps) is centered in the pop persuasion, there are other kinds...
So what are we talking about here? Zhou Jie Lun, SHE? Or something incredibly nifty that I must get to know quickly?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAs for myself, I'm a foreigner living in China, and one of the issues I have with that is that I am completely out of the loop as to what's going on in music today, outside of China (especially since I'm not an MBA produced western boy-band fan).
The internet brings some solace, and recommendations by friends over yonder help. One of the things I've discovered (sounds a little silly, I'm sure they're incredibly well known in the west) is Interpol. Kind of fits in with my appreciation of all things The Cure and Joy Division.
Something else that I found worth checking out is The Arcade Fire. I found them on Metacritic, which actually filled the void I mentioned quite well (it offers compound scores for albums and movies - good for people stuck out beyond the reaches of western culture).
I love things like the old Portishead album from the 90s, the one that propelled them into stardom.
I've enjoyed the albums by the Belgian band Arsenal. Very eclectic and palatable. (and oh, bit of a disclaimer, I am Belgian).
Besides that, much much more.
I must say, my 4GBs are often filled to the brim with podcasts. I love using the player to soak up information about all kinds of stuff. Photography, news, literature, technology, I just love it. Cleaning the house, a late evening stroll, ... I'm learning.
