Smart decision though. Meizu needs to focus on promoting the M3 and due to its current similar price with M6, it's a good idea to increase M6 price.

This is also because Flash prices have skyrocketed in recent times.

It's great because it also lessens the difference in price domestically vs. abroad to make it harder for eBay sellers selling illegal (non-licensed) units.

yep, i agree... the M6 is too cheap compared to the M3
people will be inclined to go for the M6 for the few extra RMB/dollars/whatevers they pay

Is that price correct? Because doing the conversion, 1050 RMB is only $136.

It was 1150 RMB which was $148. I see that the pricing for the 4GB MP has gone up now to 850 RMB = $110 which is up from the 699 RMB that it was. If they can actually hold those prices, that would be great.

And Err0r is correct, flash prices (primarily higher capacity 4GB/8GB) have increased about 30% over the last 3 - 4 weeks. While flash is traded like a commodity, subject to supply and demand factors, how can they just keep moving prices up and down? That really screws up the supply chain, because if you stock anything, depending on timing, you're good on the bounce up, but screwed on the drop.

First of all, I think Meizu would be doing their selves and customers a very good service if they offered up, on their site : "Where to buy" listing their licensed distributors.

As for price increase, hmmm...well, I don't know that I would have jumped on one if the prices were higher. It's a good introductory price for first time buyers and/or those who are not familiar with the company.

That coming from someone new to DAPs...and well, a customer just the same.

Being here in China, I can say that I'm glad I got my M6 8gb, two weeks ago! It's also becoming cheaper just by looking at the value of the yuan for people in the USA. When I started work here 2 years ago the exchange rate was over 8.0 and now it is at 7.72! I get paid US funds at my job and have actually been taking pay decreases of about 2-3% per year! Time to renegotiate my contract before the next Meizu comes out!

So, as long as the yuan increases and the US Dollar decreases, cross your fingers that the international prices don't go up, but I bet you a dollar they will if the distributors are buying using RMB and not USD or other.

I agree, also I don't understand how a price for an item like that can fluctuate so much

I mean.. its mass production and all... not exactly rocket science anymore
