Hassle-Free FW Choice

Got a new SP 4GB black M6 on the way from Mark (JTC), and would like the least-hassle option for firmware. The unit ships with S1.010 I believe, so is there any reason I should forge further ahead up the firmware mountain?

From what I've gathered here, that version is solid and would work fine with the player. I'm not really interested in album art, and I do use ID3 browsing (so apparently no lag issues). Any pressing needs and/or fixes that would make a newer FW version a must-have, or can I just load up the player with tunes and be on my merry way?

1.010 is the final revision of firmware version 1. It is pretty mature, and if you don't need the new features in version 2, you will not need to upgrade.

The new features have caused new problems, which is why the firmwares are released so frequently now.

Thank you, E. I actually find the many threads and discussions about firmware quite interesting and peruse the information here often. Part of the charm and wonder of miniplayer is most surely its approachability vis-a-vis firmware, languages, skins, et al.

My fascination stops where the music starts, however, leaving me lacking in patience for "messing" with the guts of dap code. But it is this odd curiosity which keeps me checking back in regularly for the latest cool stuff on miniplayer. Quite a wierd sickness - sucks gettin' old...
