Battery Time in Firmware v2
Has anyone measured the battery time with the new firmware?
Meizu allegedly boosted the playback time of 128kbps CBR MP3s with all sound options off to 36 hours.
I haven't emptied my battery (not even half empty) since the firmware update. Does anyone have a comment on this? Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I completed a test last night using the following settings.
Screen Brightness 50%
Spatializer OFF
Equalizer Default
Bass Boost 2
Treble Boost 1
Volume 15
LCD off setting 10 seconds
File Format MP3 128kbps (497 tracks)
All with Album art (if that makes a difference)
Sennheiser CX300 in ear earphones
I completely discharged the battery and then fully recharged overnight and managed 23 hours and 45 minutes continuous play time.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postscan't really say as i often partially charge my m6. i'll see if i can conduct a test on this.
it has to be 128kbps mp3 files, right?
update: ok, started my test this afternoon at 1:30PM and it's still going strong. in 7 and a half hours, the battery has only gone down one notch.
if i remember correctly, there are 5 notches, so that should total 35 hours, more or less. but let's wait and see. will post another update in.... 28 hours. :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI haven't gone into great detail about measuring the exact times for the battery.
However, I can say this. Remember how Meizu's previous firmwares said their battery time would last 4 hours if you played video? Well, I played around 17 25-minute videos, and the battery hasn't run out yet. The battery bar is on the lowest, but it isn't flashing yet.
17 X 25-minutes / 60 = around 7 hours of playback.
So as you can see, the battery power has gone up, meaning thumbs up
