This seems to be one of the most requested features that doesn't appear in the new firmwares. Also, I haven't really heard anything about this coming from Meizu directly.
To be clear, what I'm asking in this poll is: Say yes if you would like to be able to specify how long the player remains 'on' when it's not playing anything. As you know, the player now turns itself off after 3 minutes, and requires a 10 second startup time if you want to revive it after that.
I hope (as all of you do, no doubt) that people from Meizu look at these boards now and then, and if many people vote, they might finally understand how many people really want this feature.Last edited by Zaan; 02-17-2007 at 01:03 AM.

welli doubt anyone would dislike this feature, it is not really a choicey kind of poll but i guess some may dislike development tme spent on making it so it kind of mnakes sense
and for meizu listening yes it could make them notice so that would mean the poll was a good thing, but im sure you understand what i mean about no-one being against it ^___^, unless there is something it would casue i do not know

I second that! Well, actually, I was the 4th to vote.
Anyway, I really want this option, since I use my miniplayer at work and I have conversations of a few minutes all the time. I'd like to just press pause and come back after 5 minutes and continue the music by pressing play again.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI know, I know, but I kind of thought a poll should have at least two options, maybe that's not true. I'm trying to get a somewhat informal 'show of hands' going here, and I do think a poll is a nice way to achieve that, seeing as how the barrier to participation is much lower than actually posting something. Also, in a thread asking for this, before long, you get people discussing all kinds of things, which makes actually counting 'raised hands' a little more difficult.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSeriously, there's no development time involved. I bet someone could implement it in 10 minutes, since all it would take is make the shutdown time a user changeable variable that's set from a certain part of the program. I'd like to add that I think the startup should be done by merely pressing the play button instead of holding it. The button's so hard to accidentally push it shouldn't be a big deal to make it that way. Actually, I might make a mock up of what I would think was the perfect GUI for the player.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThis feature seems to be easy to implement and they should do it. Animated GIFs and album art embedded in ID3 tags are less timeworthy features. They should, at least, fix the auto-off thing to, say, 12 minutes.
But the best thing I'm looking forward to is the USB host!

If you want a feature added, the easiest thing to do is to tell it to the ones who makes the firmware, that would be Meizu, they got a part of there forum that's dedicated to suggestions for the firmware:

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI didn't see before that the poll was in the in the miniplayer (m6) area, but same considerations can be made for it's little brother m3 music card (the one I own) so I think poll results should be considered for both devices.

you could also have asked "do you want sunshine instead of rain". The question should have been "do you think that the auto-off timer is worth a petition ?" and I would clearly have voted with "no" because I think that the most annoying thing today is the automatic library update.
That's why deny to participate in this poll.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHello,
I guess that many things apply to both players. I have a M6 and a M3, and I found that:- Both have a serious playback bug: it repeats the last bit of songs until the next track starts -- when listening to live albums and DJ sets, this bug gets really annoying;
- Both have the annoyingly short shut off timer;
- Both lack in the on-the-go playlist management: not being able to add tracks to the list being listened to without having to stop and restart the playback is very odd, to say the least.

i dont think there is much of a debate here
any customization of things like this benefit the user
personally if like the shut down time to be longer as now i regularly have to restart my player...
since the player isnt the fastest starter around this is annoying
