    New Firmware 2004.7

Just visited Meizu site and got new firmware.
    Anybody using it already?
    Any improvement.
My M6SL using 2004.6 and working fine, so if there nothing improve from the new firmware, I rather stick with the old one.
    Thanks guys.

It says on the meizu page:
Actually we improve some hardware quality.
I wonder what that means. I think I'm going to give it a try.

update: Well, one thing for sure is that 2.004.6 skins won't work with this.

Damnit, lots of updated skins need to come then, when someone provides the mapping. Including my own. O_O And the good thing is that we still all have this 'reached download limit' in the skin download section on meizume. :/

Aaanyway, any noticable improvements? I was fine with the update library thing (not as slow as every body says, for me), but has that maybe been improved?

edit: doh, it's SL. I own a regular SP. :D

Actually we improve some hardware quality. To be compatible with it, we only need to update a new version SL firmware. And this firmware is also compatible with previous goods. That means nothing is changed apparentlly.
    I think this means that:
    1) they changed/improved some hardware components for new produced M6 SL's and this is just a firmware update to support the new hardware.
    2) it should also be compatible with the previous SL version, without any visible changes compared to 2004.6.

However, if 2.004.6 skins won't work then that's a visible change.. maybe they forgot to mention that "little detail"?

Yes you're right, officialy they don't support skins. But I'm under the impression that the resource editor tool was actually made available by Meizu, even if unoficially...

I don't know what's new, but I noticed they removed Box Man...

Not that I'm playing Box Man that much anymore, but why remove it?

hmm I did notice this too. There is only one game to choose, but I found another more major change - screen contrast!
While things was bright and clear before, the screen is just much darker on 2004.7. Pictures aren’t bright as before and Album arts, thumbnails just looks very bad compare before.
Even such like BobbyQ’s batman demo movie looks like....oh well
And no, adjust the screens settings don't help.
I just wonder how this can be useful.

For me I feel the screen on my SL shows too much blue colors compare to my old SP. Just low it down just a bit might was a great improvement Meizu could do if they did know it. But low down the contrast - no thanks, I don't see why.
Doesn’t looks like worth upgrading this time.
Stutter issue is still there but for me formatting didn't happen while upgrading/downgrading. You may still need backup your files for safty reason.
I don't know if there is more things to find. I don't have much time...
oh about boot screen time - no changes at all.

My screen was too bright at first start, and suddenly it changed back to dark after a couple of minutes... If that's what they call an improvement...

aww geez ...so they release a firmware update after soo long and that too with hardly any fixes or added features...?
they could've at least fixed the playlist issue...am sure it's not that big of a issue for them...

Too much negative acknowledgement, so I'll stay with 2.004.6.

This firmware works ONLY FOR SL version. In fact meizu is working to a new version of the SL miniplayer, with some hardware changes. To be compatible with them, they need to upgrade a new version of SL firmware. This is the reason why there isn't a new version of the firmware for SP or TP players.

It has the same stuttering issue of the precedent ones, and the boxman game was deleted.

BUT IN THIS FIRMWARE THE LAG WHEN THE PLAYER CHARGES PLAYLISTS IS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED. ALSO "UPDATE LIBRARY" DOESN'T WORKS ANYMORE EVERY TIME YOU START THE PLAYER, BUT ONLY WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE PLAYER FROM YOUR PC.

The old resource.bin and skins aren't compatible with the new firmware, cause the new resource.bin contains one more language (21 instead of previous 20). So you must use Resource Editor to extract images from the old resource.bin and import them in the new one.
I have also upgraded my Spectrum skin for the new firmware. You can find it there:

Meizu Me - Downloads - Spread Spectrum [2.004.7]

It's possible to download this skin also for old firmwares.
