That upgrade will work good on your player. Perhaps your problem with a locked up player while browsing pictures will be solved with an upgrade.... never heard of a problem like that.

so with all this talk on the new update.
should i get it, or is there not much point and i will only mess my player up?

if you don't have any problems with the current firmware, then I would advise you to wait.
No need to run a beta version if you don't really need it.

The real question is V2.001 a beta firmware? I know V2.000 was but V2.001 looks to be very solid.

Since it is not on the front of http://en.meizu.com/
I would say that it is not officially released - therefore beta.

On the other hand it is up on the Chinese site, so you can't tell.

Lets then wait until the new year's vacation ends and see what the guys at Meizu say. I will not upgrade to the 2.00X until it is oficilly announced at Meizu.

I had lockup problems on v1.010 in pictures if i viewed a video clip before i tried to show pictures. Worked every time i didnt show a video first.

Recorded audio skips, beeps and is just plain bad. Tried turning the quality up and down, tried changing gain control. Guess its just bugged, not my player either, i downgraded to the stable version and it works fine with this.

What happened to the dock support, OTG i think it was called. Is it included in this FW version? Wasen't it supposed to be released with some FW back in february?

Any 2.x version for other european languages (german / French etc) ?

Using the resource editor i can see these are stin in the .bin-file, but
they can't be selected in menu ???

The menus seem to have moved around from firmware V1.010 to V2.001.1

Will someone please post new instructions for changing the language?

The instructions in the FAQ don't seem to apply to V2.xxx.x
