Got it. This is how to use Album Art!

I was really disappointed that I had to rename a picture for every song in order to get some album art. But alas I have found a much better way.

Using this method, an image can be used throughout an entire album, instead of a particular song!

    How to:
    1. Get the Album picture to a relatively small size (I used 200x200, JPEG). It is best to use 80x80.
    2. Create a new folder inside the player's root directory called "Albums" (No CAPS).
    3. Rename the Album picture into "#ALBUM##ARTIST#.jpg" where "#ALBUM#" is the name of the album written in the ID-tags and #ARTIST# is the artist. Note that there is no space between the two phrases.
    4. Copy the picture into your newly created "Albums" directory.
    5. Disconnect the player and "Update Music Library".
    6. Voila, experience a whole new level of enjoyment with Album Art!

    Example:
Let's say I have an album from the Red Hot Chilipeppers called Stadium Arcadium. The file I need to place inside my "Albums" folder would be called "Stadium ArcadiumRed Hot Chilipeppers.jpg".

Note: You can make the files/folder hidden if wanted to make the player less cluttered.

Edit: Apart from having correct ID-tags, you must also have your songs sorted by Artist/Album, such as: "MUSIC\Red Hot Chilipeppers\Stadium Arcadium"

Edit: As of version 2.001.1, there are also other, perhaps easier, methods to use.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Now that we know how this works, this should be an easy task for a programmer.

Make it read jpg files imbedded in the tags also. Much better.

hmm, great it works. but it makes a lot of work to create the exact filenames..

wmp11 does automatically create a folder called "Albums" and creates jpgs which are called the same as the artist in the id3 tag.

nevertheless, i don't really understand, why it must be that complicated.

    But...thanks man!

Because it is just a beta version, Meizu is still working on it. They just thought it would be nice to give a preview to M6 owners.

What happens if you try to see lyrics?
Does it show Album Art as well?

This is not working for me! I made a folder in the root directory called "albums" and named the album art "Demon DaysGorillaz". Shouldn't it work for me?

Not working for me either. I tried several possibilities :
"Artist NameAlbum Name", "AlbumName ArtistName", "Folder", each in the folders "ALBUMS", "Albums" or "albums".

The "same name as the mp3 file" trick worked though.

Maybe this is related to my Miniplayer being a TP, just like Austin's...

Err0r, my album art doesn't work.
Any ideas? I did EXACTLY the things you listed at the start of this forum topic.
Nothing works. I tried different ways trying to make it work - I used different ID3 tags, changed the names of the pictures (changed the ending, ie: *.jpg and no .jpg, since i am using windows XP)

    Help!!!

btw: Like lOtR, the "same name as the mp3 file" works. This is not a feasible step to do, as you would not like multiple images linked to hundreds of songs.

TP and SP are hardware differences, nothing to do with functionalities : Err0r's method works like a charm on my player, the only thing is that I won't have the time to copy/rename all of my album's pictures...

Nice work figuring out how it works. I wonder why Syncing with WMP doesn't name the pictures properly ?

They do use different firmware however.
Version management is a complicated thing so I would rule out this possibility.
I too can't get this trick to work on my TP player.
Any TP'ers out here who can?

I have a SP and i cant get it to work either.
Maybe has something to do with how the files is placed on the player ?

    I have tride like this:
    Music in: /MUSIC/In Flames - Clayman/
    Album Art in: /albums/ClaymanIn Flames.jpg

Will try to put the "In Flames - Clayman" dir in the root when i get home.

Big A in Albums And make sure you name it as the tags in the music files is named, not as the folder the music lies in.

    Works fine for me, SP.
