    3. Create automatically a folder called "Albums" where are transferred .jpg files containing cover art of the music obtained from id3 tag, in the format aaaaaaAAAAAA.jpg, where aaaaaa=album AAAAAA=Artist. WMP11 uses as a pointer a .alb file for this .jpg files.
Size of .jpg files is 200x200.

Not always true - I have 2 M6s(a 4gb Dane and an 8gb M6) and the album art is a continual problem with WMP 11.

My latest project - new 4gb Dane for my daughter- set up in MTP mode, synced with WMP11. WMP did not create an Albums folder at all, but did create artist subfolders. No Album Art - No joy. So on my 8gb model where WMP11 did create an Album folder, I copied the entire folder onto the new player, and nowe get Album art for the albums where there was a pic from my other player, but not all the music is the same on both players so some of the album art is n;t on there and those albums don't display it. What's frustrating is in WMP11 there isn't a simple pic file sitting there to copy- I can't figure out where WMP11 is storing the pics for the albums - They aren't in the artist folders

To do that is must be used ID3v2, that stores cover art embedded in the tag.
WMP11 handles covert art embedded in a very simple way, which is to ask for insert it in Album screen, when an album don't have it, this is done in icon display. It just to copy and paste any cover art from any page in the Net. That is added into tag data. Any size can be used, I prefer 300x300.
When an album is transferred to the attached device (My Meizu M3) in folder "Albums" is created a record in format albumARTIST.alb, later will appear a record albumARTIST.jpg with size 200x200.
Here is a sample of a covert embedded in tag ID3v2:

Check out feroxy's post in this thread...

Album art can't get much easier to apply than this.
    It helped me a lot.

    Best,

    MZ,
Feroxy's post, and program Album Cover Art Downloader, is an awesome solution when you have your device set to USB mode MSC, as it requires a unit letter for processing. in my case M:\ for Meizu .
I do maintain my whole collection with ID3v2 that store Cover Art into the tag. So it's a breeze to pick the embedded cover art from the M3 and copy them into folder "Albums", as it is required to be displayed.
The only pending problem should be to have the tracks ordered by track# instead of alphabetical, to access them through Music > Artist > Album and play :D, instead through the Browser as I do today.
In fact, the only reason for use USB mode MTB is the infamous track# / alphabetic track order.
I hope that Meizu pals solve in next firmware proper track order depending on USB selected.
in MSC mode, ordered by filename within "Album", beside "All Songs".
in MTP is required a better implementation of function "Update Music Library" which is working bad today.
IMHO the best implementation should be a software named iMeizu that handles the whole package in a better way :P
    Thanks for the nice link.

In the thread, read the whole thing it is informative, there is a link to a swf file. This is a mini tutorial on how to operate the program.

All you have to do is plug in the meizu... load it in Album Art Downloader and viola!.

    This also works in linux.

But my problem is WMP11 did not create an "Album" folder on my Meizu M6 in the first place- It isn't there at all. Now I just ran the Album Cover Art Downloader on my M6, and that has got most of the art going(It puts the jpg in the music folders), but it could not find some, even though my desktop computer WMP11 has the art in it.

Is there a manual way to pull the art out of WMP11 into a jpg, because then I could maybe manually put it in the appropriate folder.

Maybe my problem is that I don't have a ID3 tag editor installed on my computer- Would this allow me to extract the data and use it.

    Thanks,

The manual way I did it was to display the hidden files in windows, and rename the folder.jpg file that media player created to the same naming scheme outlined above ALBUMartist.jpg or whatever. I had trouble finding some more obscure albums with the art downloader as well, that wmp seemed to have had no issues grabbing.

The location of the pic and song is together under the MUSIC folder.
No need for any "Album" / "Albums" folder. Just put a certain album's song into its' own folder, under the MUSIC folder, edit the id3 tag (or pic filename) to match, and voila! instant gratification.
YES,YES,YES. It works like a charm at least ! Thanks ! My M6 is SP version BTW.

For obscure albums covers you have to go to http://rateyourmusic.com/ site where I contribute, available front covers is 300x300.
A question: what example you have of obscure albums?

I'm sorry but I have a bit off topic question - How do you determine if you are using ID3v2 tags, and if you aren't - is there a conversion program out there. I have tried all the methods above(including Album Art downloaded) and although my desktop computer has the album art, they won't show up on my miniplayer. I am wondering if my collection is srtoring the art in a wrong format or something.

To decide what type of tags to use depends on the software is used to maintain the music. I use a program called "J River Media Center", which uses ID3v2 to keep coverart embedded in tags, not only by this ability but lots of other capabilities needed to keep the music (and video) well organized.
You can use WMP11 that handles cover art embedded too.
If you want to manage tags independently of the software you use to manage your music, that one suggested by BobbyQ "mp3tag" is excellent... and it's free... don't forget to donate to the guy who made it!

Is there somewhere you have to enable the art to show on the player? I just got mine and neither the embedded art nor 80x80 album.jpgs in the appropriate folder will work. I'm pretty sure I have the newest firmware as well.

Welcome to the world of the M6 Miniplayer - Huge list of features but many not working correctly.

I am so furious that the M6 still does not work correctly with Windows Media Player 11 - I just got done trying Winamp and had issues with that as well.

Oh, nevermind. It did work when I did [album][artist].jpg. That's just annoying because now I have to rename everything...but it's worth it for me at least :D I'm kind of obsessed with cover art.

I can't get it to work. I made a folder called Album, and have The album art named The Police Disc 1 The Police.jpg. No Album Art shows on my M6 no matter all the combonations I tried (album as the folder, The Police The Police Disc 1.jpg etc.)
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

If you have several albums in your "POLICE" folder, rename the pictures as "albumnamepolice" (without ""). If your folder is "POLICE - albumname", you can just rename the picture as "albumname".
And maybe try renaming your folder ALBUM in ALBUMS.
