Yes, I have found that to be quite irritating too. But I guess it serves a purpose... they should really remove "update music library" option now if this happens :D

Another thing I found with new firmware, is the "open player" time has extended to nearly 3 times the original opening time. By opening time, i mean the time you have to press and hold the "play" button. Nearly 3 or 4 seconds for me.

Player off is around the same time, maybe a bit slower then v1.010. Firmware has taken my 2GB miniplayer to a free space of 1.89GB with nothing on it.

i think it would be better to have a prompt that appears when you unplug the usb cable. on the prompt would be something like "refresh music library?" and then you can choose to update or not. even better would be if the player can recognize that you've loaded a new resource bin and will automatically update the resource for you. no need to reboot the player manually.

i second that. i've also noticed that bootup time has increased.

    Disappointing firmware

Does anybody know if there's a quick plan to recover this disappointing result. The firmware seem to have quiet few obvious bugs and it's not even necessary to wait BETA testing results for solving them. The points that are problematic are so obvious on this and previous versions. Is it possible that the engineers are in a holiday mood and just throw this firmware to do that before holiday starts.

Exactly what is disappointing? Yes, most likely they threw out this version before the holidays. I can not make sense of the rest, sorry.

Hmm just notised something strange with the video player. I thought that the picture look to have to much contrast and it can be confirmed with a fastforward. While fast forwarding the picture is black at the black parts and looks crisp. But when i stop forwarding and the player drops back to play mode the contrast shoots through the roof. Black looks dark gray and the colors look washed out.

Any one with similar experiense ?

Well I gave in and installed the new firmware. :D I must say I haven't had one problem so far, haven't tried album covers yet though (I like my wallpaper too much). The moving EQ IMO looks like crap so I don't even use it, I guess I'm a bit too used to the one in Winamp .

Doesn't really feel like a final version though

Error, simply go through all replies to this thread and try to figure out how many people are truly happy with this release of firmware. Even updating is troubled and even if the correct version is used many people face this green screen issue. Besides only few weeks ago they've offered a beta trial user application. How can they give an offical release before beta release is properly completed. It can't be completed in such a short time. Does this make any sense?

That's right Meizu is not one of those companies such as Sony, Creative etc. So maybe our expectations are high in getting a proper support. But this little great gadget gives us those high expectations(which is something good in a way) and I'm sure it's technically capable to make many of the requests discussed on previous threads.

Let me give you few examples why it made me get disappointed:

    1. Displaying album art shouldn't be that difficult. I've done it but unnecessarily difficult. Just put a jpeg in the same directory with the songs and it should appear much more nicely on the great screen of Meizu.

    2. Listing files based on IDTag info is a solution but listing and managing them as directories shouldn't be this difficult. Old firmw version only let you do that in the "Browser" menu. This new version can't even do that because it doesn't recognise when mp3 files are under subdirectories. I've got all my mp3's kept in directories. So how will I keep them in Meizu's memory???Different to all other storage logics in the IT world???

Many other features are discussed before this release that made people's expectations go high and this firmware doesn't really give what was expected. No one in the rest of the world care about China being on holiday and expect a professional approach in support as well as all other things make them happy in purchasing this good player.

I still think this is one of the strengths of this player versus everything's that out there. How does Apple views their users? How fast would they react if something similar would have happened to an iPod firmware? How many of you would wager that all of these problems with the firmware will be over in a couple of weeks?

Green screen is not a bug. As the M6.EBN upgrade formats the player, you will naturally have no resource.bin. You need to copy it over again. Pretty logical, if you ask me.

    1. What you want has already been implemented in a new version.

    2. Ditto #2

I am satisfied. Are you not?

What about.....it just looks for an image called "folder.jpg" contained in the same folder as the music and uses that as the album art....simple eh!

We still have to rename every picture so it matches the foldername, and if i have understood it right albumart also has to do with the tags in some way so if the files dont have tags or they are wrong then we are forced to tag/edit them if we want albumart to work.

Looking for a single "folder.jpg" in the same directory as the mp3-file is so much simpler and better.
    Why complicate things?

Maybe you'll get it back if you would go and wash your mouth with some Dettol.
