Original Dane-Elec resource.bin
I have used a different resource.bin, but then wanted to restore the original. However, there is no dane-elec download for firmware/resources. Does anyone have the original resource.bin for dane-elec players (firmware 1.010)?

No, Dane-Elec has no user replaceable firmware so far. There's no way to roll-back the changes by now.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Unfortunately, Dane Elec keeps their Firmware away from the buyers of the product. Not very customer friendly but this way they want to block people from installing the original Meizu firmware and voiding the Dane Elec warranty...

#5 - the player tells me to get the latest updates from en.meizu.com...
And I seen a European shop who told people to upgrade to get radio and higher volume.

yep... but it will void the warranty...
its something Dane Elec has to work on...

Sucky camera...
If they tell me that they don't wanna fix it, well then there is the Danish consumer complaints board, and i'am pretty sure they will be willing to take this to court, if they have to --- and then I do believe I would win.

#9 I only changed the background, and that is a thing you can do with out changing firmware.

yep...
The dane elec volume limit in europe is due to regulations in some european countries regarding the max volume of portable music players..
The American Dane Elec and the original Meizu player are not affected by this.
Its purely an artificial limit which can be lifted by changing firmware.
Dane Elec doesn't give service anymore if you do.
The screen in the Meizu settings menu telling you to get your new firmware from Meizu.com is therefor very confusing to users.
The screen is there because technically and software wise the Dane Elec and the original Meizu players are exactly the same with the difference of the volume limit and the blocked radio option. Dane Elecs quick changes to the Meizu firmware probably looked over that screen.
and in a region like Europe where consumer rights are considered to be important a confusing message like the one in the Dane Elec players is asking for troubles with consumer boards and buyerrs complaints

Well if there ain't a new dane-elec firmware on same day as Meizu releases next version, then I am installing the Meizu one.
Don't really need radio or higher volume, since I like being able to hear.
Some people says that the dane-elec also plays lower on the same level, but I think it is the same, properly their imagination. (I have only heard the dane-elec)

yes its the same
Like i said the players are exactly the same so the volume settings correspond too
I agree that, specially with good earphones, 33 should be enough for most people.
However, I have noticed that many Dane Elec users were dissatisfied with the artificial limit they put on it... not to mention the lack of radio on the European players

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsFWIW: I have asked my store (in the Netherlands) the question about loosing garantee from dane-elec if I upgraded the firmware. They have asked dane-elec Netherlands and the answer was NO if you upgrade the firmware with the original ones from MEIZU.

Thats odd cause thats the exact opposite of what i was told by Dane Elec(netherlands).
You dont loose your warranty if you upgrade with(future) versions of Dane Elec Meizu firmware but you do loose it of you upgrade with the original Chinese(or those other language firmwares out there) firmware...
I am confused...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDifference between Meizu and Dane-elec
I have a dane elec meizu, I have upgraded with Meizu firmware this works perfectly.
I was just wondering what the difference between the two are or are they identical in terms of hardware.
-
03-10-2007 #20
yes, totally identical
The difference is in the firmware.
Dane elec had to adjust the firmware somewhat to live up to certain local laws(for example in the European Union there is a max volume limit to prevent hearing loss and an extra fee for FM usage. Thats why Dane elec lowered the max volume and removed the radio option)
anyway... to get back on topic... the players are exactly the same...
