Official release of firmware for M6 TP\SP\SL


Amended Change Log:

1. Support 3.95 ~ 3.99 APE format encoded songs;
2. Amended VBR Mp3 player at the time are not allowed;
3. Increase the return function;
4. Choice of fonts to a font.
5, document support CUE
6, page book set to increase Skip
7, auto-page book can be automatically adjusted for changes 0-40
8, positioning book rapid positioning to paragraph 4
9. Changed the charge detection methods
10, amendments to the other BUG

If you are updating from 2.003 or earlier versions this will format your player during install so be sure to backup any data you want. After the format you will need to copy the resource.bin to the player, disconnect and restart.

As this is the Chinese version it will set language to Chinese as default. To change back to English got Menu-10 Down to Settings -7 down to Language.

so...is this the same as the other 2.004.6 version you posted?...i'll check to see..

ok i tried it out...didn't see any change from the other 2.004.6 version madman posted earlier...i dunno maybe somebody else might spot some differences..and what does 'choice of fonts to font' mean??

Well, this certainly is the first time my M6 won't startup anymore and I've done a lot of firmware updates. When I press the start button, it flashes quickly and does nothing. It won't charge anymore either. Battery had plenty of power. I tried formats, hard resets... Guess I'll have to try the DFU tools. :/

Hope it works...

I'll tell how it went when I get the chance to use the tools. Need Windows for that and I'm working now so can't reboot into XP.

thanks you very much madman the firmware 2.004.6 works fine with cool green skin in 2.004.5!! great!! and i think this firmware works with every skin in 2.004.5 version

Absolutely great. DFU tools worked straight away, the first time I ever tried it. Held the buttons, did the process, disconnected, started... white screen... wait... automatic restart: "Update Music Library" and tadaaa! Just the way I left it, except it now has the most recent firmware and resouce.

I was surprised to see, all my data was still in tact as well.

Is it me or does this new firmware version feel slightly quicker with images?

i went back to 2.003.2 specially becouse of the library update speed...

Hi,

after updating to 2.004.6 I have noticed that the Menu Point USB MODE in the settings doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Can somebody confirm the missing of the USB MODE changing possibility? And why?

I tried the earlyer release of this firmware and never noticed the usb mode was gone, are you sure its not just in another submenu or somthing?
anyway, i just saw that there is a new firmware around:

i hope someone can get it installed and gives us a detailed description of it...

I switched back to 2.004.5 and the USB MODE is there in the settings menu.
Update again to 2.004.6 and it is gone. If Someone knows something about why or where it is now, I would enjoy to hear.

the updating library still takes a long time....they should really do something abt that in the next FW update...this is the 21st century people, we shouldn't have to go through with these kind of minor problems...

and yes i also noticed the usb mode option is nowhere to be seen with this firmware...why they did that is way beyond me...

I got no USB Mode either

my only solution for now(for slow playlist updates + for usb mode) is to stay at 2.003.2,
its twice as fast in the older firmware version...
since i do not need any of the recent changes, i also like the fact that i can get one more option on the screen, becouse the font is not "zoomed" when selected.
anyway, looks like there is a way out soon with the "unofficial firmware"...

So what does it mean there's no usb mode? Is the player in the msc or mtp mode?

well it looks like it's in the default msc mode...

Hmm I always wanted to ask, what is the difference?

msc - see the player as an usb drive (which is the best option - no matter what system you have you can open it)

mtp - see the player as a multimedia device (for example if you want to synch it with windows media player)
